    LOL!! I'm 52!

at the moment its like being expected to know how to take a car apart to go from A to B

I'm not interested enough to do anything but wait till they evolve everything - which of course is happening as we type

So what I'm 61 and still capable of learning new tricks and teaching youngsters some old tricks.

I love all this 'licence payer this' and 'licence payer that', especially in the guardian (although would you expect anything else from them). I know I could google it but since the iplayer came out how much as the licence fee changed? I bet it isn't that muchin real terms. I think it is a great service and shows just how quickly people start taking things for granted!

As for this forum, if I crashed my car on the way to the cinema I wouldn't blame Odeon for me not seeing the film.

Use the download for portable device or windows media player option if it allows.

At least you wont have it stutter or buffer whilst watching.

    did that

guess what - the downloads are stuttering and buffering!!

I give up - truly a lame site

I've you've downloaded it, and it's still stuttering/buffering it's your PC, you're not using the website to play it back as once it's downloaded, it's "local" (stored on your PC, nothing to do with the website).

It's sounding more and more like your machine is having problems with the playback, possibly due to lack of free memory or a combination of lack of free memory and lack of hard disk space that can be used as virtual memory.

What specs are your machine if you know them, or roughly how old is it?

In five years you will have accumulated a lot of c**p on your computer. You were given a link in post number 11 - instructions don't come much simpler than that for what you need to do to tidy up your computer and probably improve its performance - these tasks really need doing at least once a year if you don't use your PC much. I carry them out on mine at least every 2 months and very rarely suffer problems.

This sort of maintenace is like checking oil and water levels and tyre pressures on your card - not rocket science but essential maintenance.
