The sweet wiliams are looking good. (How's the sunflower?)

I hope you work something out with the dentist and they don't want to do too much to your teeth.

I have a feeling I may be adding tomato plants to my offer to you - over 20 have sprouted now! Of course, that may not reflect how many survive.

Needless to say, most of the sprouts are from the ancient packet with hundreds in that I thought might be too old to be viable. Hardly anything has sprouted (yet) from the posh packet with only 8 seeds. F1 hybrids are all very well for a novelty but I don't think I'm the right person for them.

The sunflower looks porly, to me, however, it looks healthier than those in the shop, and it has 5 more flower buds, so i will persevere. I have alot to learn about sunflowers :D

I had two lots of unexpected "stuff " done, probably because i haven't been able to afford the treatment i need at the dentist, for so long. I also came away with a prescription for 3 free tubes of toothpaste. I like this being on benefits, malarky. :p Free treatment and free toothpaste. YAY :rotfl:

I feigned ignorance when they asked for my proof of benefits, ( which i knew they would ask for.). Was that too naughty / dishonest, of me? After all, it is what it is. They said just bring it next time you come.

Thinking about it, thats the first time i've ever had dental treatment for free. Next stop, some spectacles, then i can see to read and do normal things again. I can't wait to get my poor people's specs :D, sorry, my nhs specs.............

Just goes to show, all my seeds have been cheap, as in cheap, cheap

I think it's time for a list of all my cuttings, miggy, (you're better at lists than me) :-

LILY OF THE VALLEY ( yep, you're not getting away with that one)

    Tomatoes

    I can't remember the rest.

Shall i just bring a removal van to yours?

    OH MY GOD

Anyone for a party here tonight? Champers, iced rings, jammie dodgers, chocolate cake, ( if miggy has any left.)

I'm not sure if i should celebrate yet, or even if it's cause for celebration, how can you celebrate being on benefits? BUT i rang dwp today, and they of course said they were just sorting my claim, and rang back to say some money would be in my account, later. They texted to say the money had gone in, and the money is indeed showing in my bank account, however the cash machine doesn't agree :rotfl:I will have to wait until tomorrow. Fingers crossed. The sense of relief is immense. Indescribable. Its only the first step to the rest of my benefits being sorted, and i still have no idea how much debt i am in. I will leave that to da, to sort. I've still got so many appointments, income tax etc, to sort, and realistically, i think it will take the rest of may to get things on an even footing. By that time, am i supposed to return to work? Not a chance. If i'm ever going to recover i need time, to be a person again. A human being, not a thought machine. Will those funds really be available tomorrow? Of course i know i can't spend them, but to celebrate today, i spent a tenner, ( oh dear.) I've still so many bulbs and seeds remaining, i decided to buy some ( very) long troughs, and of course some more compost, which i've run out of. Still, only a tenner. I hate bloody gardening, but isn't it the only thing which has been keeping me alive?

I'm so tired after three consecutive appointments. The information appt lasted 2 hours, and although i've already decided what i'm going to do, in my own mind, there's still alot to consider, on that one, and it will take months to sort. It took all my levels of concentration and i was falling asleep towards the end. It just shows how stress has affected my ability to function. Early to bed tonight, methinks.

I'd also forgotten the scw was going to be present at the other appt, and i've now got an appt with sw, scw and wro, next week, re emotional support. I seriously need it, even now. Thankyou.

And breaking news. There's a free hanging basket for anyone on this thread, who would like one, ( though i can't afford postage) :p Not quite shop quality, but heyho........

    OH MY GOD.

    I can't believe it. Maybe i shouldn't, until tomorrow.

Woooo- ooooo! Someone's finally paying Ani some money! And about time, too.

    I'm so pleased!

Plants for you: pulmonaria, tomatoes, lily of the valley (though you will have to wait till it's grown, sorry), blue geraniums.

    Anything else?

I will bring them to the ice cream shop every time I'm over that direction till you show up and collect them :D

I bet the relief makes you tired even without all those appointments. Don't go waking up early just to get to the cash machine. :) Don't worry about the party, it will carry on regardless and there'll be a glass of virtual champers ready for you when you get up. If the cake is all gone, we'll make another.

Great news, thanks for sharing it with us. :)

You're my kind of person, party rings and jammy dodgers is right up my street. :rotfl: I'm not keen on hob nobs, either. Never saw the attraction :D Balloons anyone?

Jury is still out on balloons, sometimes the squeaking puts my back teeth on edge..actually it happens just thinking about it - yep there they go

Don't do yucca's either. Much prefer swiss cheese plants. Must be the attraction / anticipation of waiting to see it the next leaf is bigger than the last, and how many more holes, appear. Shame about my scp.

I think my mum had a swiss cheese plant too - something about yuccas and cheese plants seem very 80's to me, guess it's cos I grew up with them (well until my mum didn't water them and they eventually died I think)

    You're welcome anytime, kerri

    Thanks for staying around x

That brought me to thinking how i met you. I wonder what happened to Lucy? Its an eternity since that thread, and actually, nothing has changed since then. Shockingly, maybe, i still have no budget for food. In fact, i've no budget for anything. How can you budget in my situation? ( yes, i know i should'nt be buying plants.)

Oh wow, yes, I must admit I hadn't thought about Lucy in a while - hope she's doing ok. Saw your latter post that someone has at last paid you some money, and about bloomin time too  and no, I don't blame you at all for a small white fib at the dentist. Well I think we should splash out with some cheese and pineapple on sticks and a few cocktail sausages given your news - and as we're going retro... babycham anyone :rotfl:

ps you thanking me for staying around has made me feel very humble indeed x :o

pps I threw some pepper seeds in when I repotted my tomatoes, not sure if they'll grow or not but if they do I'll reserve a plant for you too :)

I haven't any geraniums, so far. Yes, i realise i will have to wait for the lily of the valley to reproduce :)

I'll definitely have to visit the ice cream shop to sample the ginger ice cream. Did i tell you i can make knickerbocker glories and banana splits? :rotfl: ( thats going back to my student days.) Those were the days, although i know you shouldn't look back, one can't help it, sometimes. Oh for growing up at the seaside.

It did indeed turn out to be a small white fib, with the timing being a matter of hours. Of course, i have to wait for confirmation of the award, in writing, which is what they need to see, i guess. But lets face it, if i hadn't been awarded *** , then what would i have been awarded? No one can live on fresh air, ( which is virtually what *** is.) Heyho

    More plants. Yippee :D

Is today the first day of the rest of my life? Its a base to start from, isn't it? Now *** has been awarded, the rest of my benefits will be, too? What would my mum say? I can hear her turning in her grave. Living in a council house? Out of work and claiming benefits? She was such a snob. I dislike snobs. I've learned much, about life and people, along the way, and i've learnt to value things differently, which is priceless, in itself. The things which are now important to me, are grass roots stuff, maybe even literally. But then it's been like that for some considerable time. What price, plans and ambitions? Its all worthless. Meaningless. In the grand scheme of things. These days, i don't aspire to do anything, except maybe to be. On a minute by minute, basis.

Maybe its impossible to equate how pivotal that award of benefit was / is. I still don't know how i feel today. Still in shock, i think. I've spent all my time off sick, either in hospital or still stressed whilst trying to put financial affairs in order / place. I know things won't change overnight, and maybe that's also the key to moving on, and as all the " powers " say, i'm " intelligent ", realistic to know this myself. I still question my own intelligence / abilities. Other people might say, great, everything will be hunky dory, next week. Be positive, all the rest of it, but when you've been in the place i've been in, so many times, recently, even i, can't quite believe it. Its almost like it happens to another person. Is it really me, that has fought so hard, to remain in control of my own mind. Well. They say i'm not a nutter, ( only in the nicest possible way.) God, why do i still dislike the word, nice. Regimented schooling.
