Just popped in to see if you're up for a cuppa, Ani? :coffee:
All a bit quiet here, are you all right? And is your computer staying the course?

And Aesop's quiet too... maybe off couponing? Hope it's nothing moredire than that?

Perhaps you are both sensible people and are already sound asleep as I should be. 'Night.

yes, it is about Americans, called Extreme Couponing. There is a thread about it somewhere. BUT some of them do take it to the extreme. One woman has a lifetime's supply of mustard! I mean what shelf life does it have?

toilet rolls, canned foods, bleach, shower gels, shampoos, etc. I can understand - but a life supply of mustard?

whoops, is it wrong that I don't feel guilty for hijacking Ani's thread?

Oh my giddy aunt - I just watched the first episode (the ONE with the mustard) online :eek::eek: now I totally get the idea of stockpiling when things are on offer (i do indeed have a pack of 24 toilet rolls for 2 people stashed in my airing cupboard) but SERIOUSLY the second family that had groceries all over the house and enough food for 9 people (2 adults/7 kids) for 3 YRS!!! and then still went shopping...that is seriously nuts, even if you are buying over $1k of groceries for $40, why bother at all if you have so much stashed away? what about the 14lb of steak?! sheer madness.

Although good savings are possibile in the UK, there is a diff system in the US (as I guess you gathered) where stores double and triple coupons and thus that is where the huge savings are found. Only a matter of time I reckon until that happens over here....I reckon Mr A (due to the Wal*Mart connection) will be the first to start moving to this way of couponing (lets face it, we're seeing the inital shoots with the price guarantee)

Opps...sorry Ani, i totally hijacked your thread there...hope you are ok - you've been v.quiet over the past few days, I do think of you even when not posting xx

ah the price guarantee...... that only works with 8 or more items that have to be price checked against other stores.... 8 A selected items... not all 8 items that you have bought.

    not stupid are As

it would be good if they did the double and triple thing here, but I don't think they will.

Nice weather for the time of year. Beautiful evening. Bit parky, though.

Whatever the weather, it is chickenpox season! Think DS has it now. He has been unwell the last few days, and just checking out netmums and it sounds like he has it... just no spots yet.

At least he is better off having chickenpox whilst he is younger, and its probably a bonus if he has them, before he starts school.

You have a new avatar, Aesop. :) I have'nt worked out where to get one from :rotfl:

Oh Aesop! Get the camera ready - they like a photos of the spots when they come! I can't remember much from my older ones getting it as it was at the same time when they were little and it was all over fairly shortly. We then had to wait 11 years for DS2 to get it as we were remiss enough for the older ones to have it before he was born. Have you got any camomile lotion or whatever one is supposed to use nowadays?

Ani - I googled for free avatars having first noted how small they have to be to be used here (can't remember offhand).
