I don't know what happened yesterday, well i do, i've been having problems with the computer for some time, and its only a matter of time before it packs in, completely. Of course, theres no savings fund, no credit card, no credit facility, to purchase a new computer or to fund the cost of repairs, so when it goes, it goes. The only vestige of social life i have, posting in my diary. Nothing i can do about it, although i've a work colleague who may reinstall windows for me. It really IS time to get this sorted. I must learn how to do this myself, yeah right :rotfl:
Its been a week of starting to put my house in order, so to speak. After bringing ni up to date, i was then told it did'nt matter, ( but i'd already been told it did matter). Just goes to show you can't even rely on someone who is supposed to know their job. Hopefully i might even get 3 months back pay. I could tell they were shocked when i told them my income, but i'm even more shocked even benefits don't give you an amount that equates to sustaining life. If you don't have enough money to live, you don't have enough money to live. Simples. So its still an eternal struggle worrying about how to pay the most basic of bills, in order to sustain life. Still not managed to get through to the housing benefit lot. Will try again today. This is going to be the key to sink or swim, help with the rent. The amount of wtc, won't even cover half my rent, but i suppose at least it would be weekly money, going into my account? i don't know how its paid, but it would cover those moments, when i'm literally, penniless. If i get some back pay. i will try and create an emergency fund, although nothing is ever going to be an emergency fund for long. I have too many emergencies. Mind you, almost a week has passed, and i have'nt even received the form yet. Has some one actually posted it? I'll give it until monday, then ring again. This is going to be a slow process.
Its been a bad week at work, too. I've now had four jobs cancelled. This is as bad as its ever been. Even other people are worried about losing their jobs now. It remains to be seen if anyone will ride the storm. But i reckon, depending on hb, its still wothwhile me working, even one day a week, because i just can't face giving up work, completely. Surely they've got to give me some hb ? What is the national minimum annual salary? or allowance to live? for life?Debt free - Is it a state of mind? a state of the Universe? or a state of the bank account?

What is wrong with me? I don't do religion. I don't get, frogs and monkeys. It is, what it is. Are we all living is some make believe, idealistic, sort of world? Have i lost my soul?

So when you are told something, it is always worth phoning a couple of other people to find out for sure. And it's always worth filling in the forms just in case.Even other people are worried about losing their jobs now.
So, not your fault, then.i just can't face giving up work, completely
Don't forget there's still charity work. It IS work, and it IS needed. What is wrong with me? I don't do religion. I don't get, frogs and monkeys.
Why assume there is something wrong with you? People operate in the way that suits them best, as do you. If someone finds it useful to think in terms of eating frogs, then that's good for them. I don't find benefit from this (and I like frogs!) and so I don't do it. I don't feel I should. If you don't "get it", no sweat."Green pastures are before me,
Which yet I have not seen;"
I'd love to be a good example - instead, I am a horrible warning.0 -

Oh dear. I think we should form a club. I gave up in despair with mine yesterday but I wonder if it had overheated after being on 16 hours and spending a good part of that playing 'Age of Empires'?! (Ds is on half term).
Ani, if yours packs up can you get a bit of time on library computers?Miggy

I'm off to work.
I think I must have missed something?!
You ask what's wrong with you? - You don't have enough income.
You don't do religion? Neither do a lot of people. It happens I do, which is my choice. It helps me, among other things, to see beyond myself and I need that.
Frogs and monkeys? I don't do them either, but I, too, like frogs.
Make believe, idealistic world? No. The real world is far from ideal. I guess my take on this - working with people who need almost total support - is that at least I can make life better for them, even enjoyable.
Lost soul? I doubt it? I think that's what we hear when you write?
Wordsmith is wise.Listen to her. Fill in forms, chase up phone calls, find somewhere that you can 'give' to when you have time because you are a giving person and anyway, it gets you out of the house.
As for work, I'm very sorry to hear the tax inspection/brain surgery is getting thin on the ground. I do wonder just how far the economy will fall. This announcement where my husband works is only a stop-gap, putting off the evil day. We know there will be people in his department out of a job in September and there is only so much redeployment to go round. There will be more later, and there will be knock-on impact: less spending, so other sectors will suffer.
Get that HB claim in, asap - after all any extra money is extra money IYSWIM. It must be tricky juggling all these forms with the hours you work, I do appreciate that and I'm not trying to bully you, I just don't want you to have to wait longer than necessary and I'm sure you must be entitled to something.
And thinking on... I know you eat black beans! Have you tried sprouting them? There's a thread somewhere (isn't there always?).Miggy
