  • Thanks, I hadn't thought about mdf, but the cupboard for £75 looks nice and isn't too much. The changing table frame looks very unstable to me, but there are lots of things like that around. There's just so much to buy!

Don't buy one of those changing tables with the bath underneath - they are fine when you are just changing the baby, but when you actually want to undress baby, bath them and then dress them again they are an absolute waste of time, the bath takes ages to drain, meanwhile baby is getting cold and screaming to be dressed. We were given ours which was fine, but we ended up buying a separate baby bath.

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
baby one had everything money could buy - most of which never got used and I freecycled it all when I needed the space
baby two was only ever in the baby bjorn. I don't think he went in a buggy until he was at least six months old. he has never been in the very expensive quinny three wheeler - he is now 2.
I never used the baby bath, or the changing table. Benefit of hindsight I would buy a bumbo, a baby bjorn and a disposable buggy that I could afford to replace regularly. If money is tight get a cot bed rather than a cot, it will keep you going for longer. Mine lived in white sleep suits for the first six months - tescos were good, john lewis better but expensive, 'proper' clothes if we were visting people.
Advertise on Freecycle. I gave away a lot of quality stuff this way as I didnt want to be bothered with e-bay.
