We bought argentium silver wedding rings from Argos, but they have a diamond inset. They were an absolute bargain and look just like white gold. I don't know how well they will wear but we will replace them as an anniversary present to ourselves if need be. Just couldn't see the point in spending hundreds on a ring that could be better spent elsewhere. Nothing on the rings says they are from Argos either...so what people don't know won't bother them :D

I hope this doesn't make anybody gasp :eek:but we sold ours during our debt struggle and replaced them on our anniversary with argentinium ones. We've had them about four years now and they're perfect.

Nobody would ever know - except that I keep telling people! :o:D

YAY! Good to know...looks like we might be treating ourselves to something else to celebrate out first anniversary then! Good to hear from someone who has "tried and tested" argentium silver, the assistant in Argos said it was good and she'd bought one for her hubby to wear to work and there wasn't even a scratch on it after a year. :)
  • I do all of my wedding chat here. It's so much nicer than You and Your Wedding. Angelic also doesn't like the wedding stuff overtaking the PaD thread!

I nipped over here to see if Silaqui had posted and low and behold...you're talking about me :rotfl:

I don't mind the odd 'I got this' or 'I've booked that' but seriously, a FB friend went on about her wedding so much I had to 'hide' her :o

People say thats weird because I'm a teacher, but I don't know somehow it's different in front of a class!

    xx

The difference is they are little people. I can happily stand up in front ofthe whole school of little people, a hundred scouts, 1000 Brownies - shove another teacher or adult in those situations and I have no chance. Go to pieces. My friend also think it's stupid. I can jump about and sing at work but that is in school - that's different!

Haha hello my little stalker :p;) I have a fb friend who is like that too, seriously her wedding isn't till 2012 and it's constant updates saying stuff like "OMG my wonderful fiance and I are sitting here pulling petals off roses to make confetti" and "I'm so lucky to be marrying the love of my life in 567 days, 13 hours and 3 minutes" CRINGE CRINGE CRINGE!!! :rotfl:

Hehe yeah it's so true! Mine are big kids (14-19) so not so much singing and jumping about but give me 30 teenagers to speak in front of and I'm fine, assembly with all the other teachers there? No way!

Hi Silaqui, recognise you from your lovely avatar - nice one!

Congratulations on your engagement, I just got engaged in July and a bit anti-bride too. I'm being looked at weird for not wanting favours etc., I have plently from weddings stuck in a drawer, why would I put that on someone else.

Just today, I have booked the registry office, found a restaurant to have our family meal in, decided on the hotel we'll all stay in and also got my dress, shoes, petticoat and fur shrug (cos getting married next November, will probably be freezing). I'm wearing a below the knee dress too but going to try on the biggest blamanche for a laugh! *subscribes*

Hi Swinstie, thanks for the congrats :) I know where you're coming from. I don't even like getting birthday cards because although I don't particularly want to keep them, I feel guilty for recycling them afterwards! :rotfl: I'd rather people saved their money and sent me a text instead lol.

Our date is the middle of July but if it's anything like this year I will probably be needing a fur shrug too...

We had a phonecall from a vicar last night, when he rang and introduced himself I said oh right, erm.. why are you calling us? and then he reminded me that we had provisionally booked a wedding in his church... oops:o

    xx
