I tried to arrange her some play dates for DD during the last week of the summer holiday and nobody replied to my messages. It is really hard not to take it personally. I am hoping that after I move now I can change this and actually get to be part of the community and have people just knocking on the door and come for a cuppa.

Dont know going to check now. One thing i have done is lots of travelling on my own. I am not scared of airports, timezones and travellling. I love it. Has anyone read Travels with Charley by John Steinbeck. The introduction of that marvellous book was written for me. I will travel till the day i die. I love it.

Marru, that is so sad and so rude of the parents not to invite DD back :mad: and nobody replying to your messages. :mad:

....hmmmm yes but is Europe ready for SW ?

I went for a few weeks around Europe back in the early 80`s.....slept in Koln railway station in the snow one night.:eek::eek::eek:...the unpredicability of it was fab.

Everyone should do at least one `back pack` or a `road trip` in their lives I think.
