i painted my daughters wardrobe and draws recently for her new room in our new house and i used the Kevin McCloud paint as i havent fone this type of thing before.
but since reading this thread on her F & B is mentioned all the time.
so my question is, is it worth paying more and buying the F & B paint or do people use other makes to paint interior wood furniture.
Farrow and Ball paint is probably the best quality you can buy.
I've used it in every room of my house apart from the bathroom. They've just released five new shades but I haven't got any more walls to paint. It is a dream to work with, it glides onto the wall and I adore it's deep matt texture. I know that I've finally grown up because I'm waxing lyrical about paint.
However, it is expensive. I use it on walls only because they are a big area and I use various shades. I painted my skirting, doorframes, radiator covers etc. with a crown eggshell. If you want to paint wood a basic white, I wouldn't bother with the expense of a F&B eggshell because no-one is going to know the difference.0 -
Been lurking for absolutely ages and love all of your shabby chic'd items. So far I have shabbied a dresser, a wardrobe and a chest of drawers which I will photograph and put on here when I can. I am in the middle of a house move to a much more modern house and just hoping my shabby style will fit in.
I am looking for a lamp standard and shade to 'do up' at the moment and have totally fallen in love with the one in the background to the advert for those little yoghurt drinks with 'Tiff' from Eastenders.
Has anyone got any lamps or shades they have made or altered for me to see please?0 -
ok here goes, hope the links work, my first attempt :S

Thanks everyone
I'm really pleased with how they came out
the rest of the walls in the room need painting - they are so drab at the mo
but we'll get there eventually, feel really eager to get on with everything now though, the cupboard and the fireplace have inspired me
Can't believe the difference a lick of paint makes and extra bonus I got the paint for free as my Dad had some left over
Danemi1 - yes it's an oilskin tablecloth, my little one is a messy eater at the best of times so wanted something I could wipe over, plus it's a bit of extra workspace as our kitchen is soooooooo teeny hehe! Got it from AmazonThey had loads of different patterns and colours
