Chalk paint and a brush
It was fiddly as I didn't want the holes to be clogged up so had to be meticulous for a change:A Every moment is a gift. That's why we call it the present.!:A

I'm loving this thread! I've been repainting old furniture for quite a few years now, but usually just do the old plain cream, white or grey. I have a few coffee tables to do and was thinking about selling them on but want to do something different, like stencilling the top with flowers or something. Has anyone got any tips please?
I find the local library a brilliant resource for instructions on crafting activities. If you prefer to see an example being done then YouTube is also great.0 -

That's a great idea.
It would make a useful addition to a hallway, especially if you have a trunk or baskets underneath for storage!!!:A Every moment is a gift. That's why we call it the present.!:A

Hi jumble jack. I've actually started painting! I've been a bit of a mis. these past couple of days but picking up the brush has really helped. Hopefully it will turn out okay (gulp!). However if not we have another five chairs in the set. LOL (it really is therapeutic). I was just wondering if you can advise on wax to use please?

Thank you. Think I am going to try the wilko matt varnish as a couple of people have recommended it. Four coats! But lasts longer than the wax.OSWL (start 13st) by 30Jun20 6/10

I use clear soft beeswax or (as my beeswax has ran out) briwax from eBay.
A large amount for about £8:A Every moment is a gift. That's why we call it the present.!:A
