Thanks, the majority of the hardwork was done by the hubs, I just can't wait to fill it with all my bits and bobs. X

    Today's project:

I'm chuffed cos I mixed my own colour for this one as I couldn't quite find the colour I wanted (and I would have had to part with actual money to get something I wasn't happy with!)
Looks really good - will it be varnished?

    Nope. Not varnishing.
Debating whether to wax or not though?

I actually want it to go chippy and flakey eventually.

Sounds crackers, I know but a friend has a lush garden gate which is naturally distressed like that and I love it

I would be happy to see this get a bit weather beaten so might leave as is :)

jumblejack, I know you're not using AS paint but this tip might still apply?

Tip #11 Do not use wax on outdoor items. Chalk Paint can be applied to front doors, home exteriors, bird houses, metal and cement garden statuary and more. The reason we don't wax is that the warmth of the sunlight keeps the wax from curing. Yes, you can paint a front door and wash it later on without a coating of wax!

Thanks so much! That settles the debate satisfactorily! Cheers, I appreciate it!
