Nicnax - gorgeous dresser! I love dressers, everytime I look on fleabay DH says "no more poxy dressers" as if 3 is enough!?!!! ;)

Love the table Marris - you've got the bug now, you will be forever looking at things with the view to painting them.

I've rearranged my lounge and now need (yes really, really "need") something to stand infront of the window. DH suggested we just have "space".... But where's the fun in that?

I've got some fab Buddha shaped beer bottles that I want to paint and turn into vases. But I don't have a clue which is the best paint to use.

    Can anyone please help.

    Thanks

There are specialist glass paints in craft shops.
If you want a translucent effect then old nail varnish will work.
If you want it opaque then I know that chalk paint will stick and that you can varnish that paint to make it tougher.

Long time lurker whilst I was waiting to move into our first house and could finally buy some decent furniture.
Number one on my list was a dresser and after a lot of time on eBay/gumtree I finally got this one

With all the tips on here I decided to paint it in Annie Sloan chalk paint (cream) and them clear wax on top. I had initially planned to restain the top but it came up a lovely colour when I sanded it.
Got the chalk paint in betti Biggs (Cardiff) and the lady in there was very helpful, lots of tips. Also got my sander at lidl just £14.99 and it fab.

    Here's the finished article.

Thanks. I know what you mean about the dressers I haven't finished painting this one and keep thinking I could do with another one to fill with knick-knacks lol xx

Bought another one nearly identical last night with even better detailing and handle but I underestimated the size if my summerhouse so now I have no room til I get rid of it. :,(

Love this makeover. Do you put felt pads on the casters to protect your floor please?
