love the works everyone and the pics, inspiring :)

to get the pic to come out in your post instead of on a link, you insert it in a forum image box, which appears when you go into reply message. It's the 4th from the right of the icons just above the whiteness of the reply area. It says insert image if you hover the mouse over it. When you click on it you can insert your imageshack url, but like EmmaK said, delete the writing already in it (http://) as you'll have it in your paste & copy already.

ps 2nd from right on quick reply box

I'm trying to do my first crackleglaze with pva on a wooden candlestick, yawn paint drying time :rotfl:

tht's what i have done, but probably did something wrong. :(

Just measured my kitchen window for a blind. It is wider than fabrics measure - do I add a panel each side?

Would it work to use the fabric the other way around? Assuming the width of the fabric is greater than the height of the window.

It would work with a plain fabric but not a patterned one.

Depending on the pattern of the fabric and the width of the pattern and overall blind I'd use panels.

I've opted for oak Venetian blinds, not shabby or chic but they'll look blummin lovely.

My dado rails and waxed window boards went on today, I keep stroking them.

    Any photos please?
My window is 175cms wide by 1 metre long. Fabric is usually 140cms plus I need seam allowance + panels. I have roughly worked out - need to buy 2 metres 40 - am I right?

Ive no idea of seam allowances for blinds, sorry. Have a shop around though, the fabric I've just brought for a door curtain is double width at 120 inches, it was via the bay of E. Is a green, cream and brown gingham and works well with my room. I've ordered enough to make curains to cover the appliances, 3 door curtains (new kitchen layout doesntlend itself to as many doors as before so they've gone, one was a huge sliding door that was hideous) there's enough fabric to make a couple of table clothes, a runner (well patchwork style runner when I get round to it) and should be enough for napkins etc.

No photos yet, I've promised myself I'll wait until everything is done before he full reveal now. MIL came to see how we were getting on at the weekend and she just stood, gob smacked. She couldn't get over the floor, the tiles, the wood panelling. It. Ight not be everyone's taste but it's mine to a tee!

I have been watching UTube videos on making Roman Blinds - lot of different methods. Now I don't know whether to go down the blackout lining/tape method or ordinary lining/interfacing/rod pockets one.

I'd go for whatever will give you a bit of weight to the fabric, it's amazing how much cold chill from the window blinds can block, so the thicker the better.

Have popped a couple of sneaky peek photos on my blog, love, love, love the wood.
