maybe staple an old white pillowcase or tea towel over it before the new fabric to avoid the green showing through?

I know nothing about phones but I think you have to upload to a pc and then/ or maybe direct to imageshack (or similar free photo hosting site) if you can do that from a phone? Then copy the pic's url into the reply box on here via the icon 4 in from the right at the top of the message box a square box with mountains on - it looks like an envelope to me.

This was just sugar soap and tester pots. No primer, no chalk paint. This is how we used to do it in the old days!

Daft Q - I need to recover an old stool, never done it before. Have a rough idea what to do (Get fabric, put it over seat and staple it underneath)

BUT do i remove the fabric thats already on the stool (A horrbile green) or do i get thick fabric (Cant find any though!) or do i get a sheet or something to put underneath?!

    Sorry for being dumb x

You might want to look for some thick fabric. I painstakingly reupholstered a French chair in non upholstery fabric and it eventually tore. If you're going to use it a lot, you should really go with thick fabric. Curtain shops sometimes sell remnants.

I reupholstered some dining chair seats and wanted to use the fabric from an old duvet cover but it was much too thin and I could see that it was just going to get stretched and worn through. I ended up using fabric from some really lovely (and quite thick) tea towels. They lasted longer than I expected and were really cheap. Made it easy to fit in with my colour scheme too.
