I think the big cupboard just somehow 'halts the flow' of your kitchen, it looks like it was an afterthought and makes it look like you dont really have enough space. My kitchen is probably a similar width to yours and much shorter and I found it really hard to balance having enough storage with having so much that it made it look more cluttered.
Btw, that's a really cute little dresser :-)0 -

OMG we've got one of those sitting in our shed at old home! Roof leaks, so not sure how good condition it's in now. Must freegle it if it still looks relatively OK (OH would just skip it I'm sure! ) No space in new home for it or I'd be inclined to try and do it up. Wish I'd kept the old meat safe now too! :rotfl:0 -
hubs mate in Portsmouth just sold one of those for £50 fleabay from a relatives house. I lived in a rented flat many years ago with a blue one like in the pics0

LOL ours is yellow I think. Inherited from when we bought the house back in 1973  guess the vendors didn't want to be bothered shifting it! :rotfl: Not bothered about fleabaying it, (assuming it's still in relatively decent condition!) but would prefer it doesn't go to landfill. Suspect there will be little interest in Liverpool (but who knows!), fingers crossed it will go to a shabby chic fan who will have fun with it! I'd be over there this afternoon to check it out, but poor OH has toothache so not sure when he'll be up to taking me over (he's started the antibiotics, so hopefully will be better by the weekend).0 -
meames, if you do ditch the big cupboard, you could put shelves there and maybe a kitchen trolley on wheels.

They are fab, I have a white billy book case already in there to the right of the person who is taking the picture. The one problem with ikea is they no longer do the 60 cm billy, only 40 and 80cm. The cupboard is 60 cm.0 -
could you move the out of the pic Billy? Would a bigger Billy fit in the out of the pic space?
We bought a load of bookcases from Ikea and hacked them to fit wall to wall. Because they are flat pack it was quite easy for hubs to make the shelves shorter on two of them before assembling them.0 -
