I yearn for those easipanel boards but have only seen them at around £11 each in Homebase.

Hello.
I havent posted on here for a while but I just bought the most exciting thing on ebay and wanted to share it with you all. What shall I do with it?!!
This is a link to the item on ebay. I think it was an amazing price.

Oh lovely an old fashioned writing desk. Great for crafters once you have done it up, as it has both storage for wee bits and a workspace.0

Phew you lot are busy! Just started to get into this and so will need lots of help and advice. For instance got a lovely sideboard on eBay for just 99p but when I got it home found it was a veneer. It is old and the veneer is slightly chipped at the bottom on the side. How would you revamp this as guessing tis not a good idea to sand down?? Was thinking of just giving a very light sanding to roughen surface and then doing some decoupage? Can anyone advise from your experiences please!0

Not really related, but very pleased that my chests of drawers (posted a few pages back and decided wouldn't be suitable for shabbying) just sold on eBay for £56
I got them from Freecycle 6 years ago so feel a bit guilty, but that's covered the cost of the cupboard I bought, the paint & the knobs so I'm delighted. They had 28 watchers and a bit of a bidding war in the last few minutes!
This has been part of a big decluttering exercise, so I've finally got my spare room looking decent and not a dumping ground, but hopefully I can start a few little projects here & there as I really enjoyed doing up the cupboard.0 -

I would hand sand it but steer clear of power sanders as you may remove all the veneer. Hand sanding is fine! You can fill the chips with wood filler but remember it dries ROCK hard and is a pain to sand smooth unlike polyfilla so try and get it level before it dries!
Good luck!0 -
this was veneer originally, it looks cute http://fabrehabcreations.blogspot.co.uk/2012/06/sweet-little-cabinet-in-gray.html0

That looks fab ChalkySoil! Daughter and I have been decopatching today and now think we might have a go at that on this cabinet. Will have a play and see how we get on with my wonderful bargain! Can't believe it was just 99p!!!!0

Help needed please......
Have had a problem with hall walls being uneven, so have had to paper it with lining paper prior to painting. However in some places the lining paper has shrunk leaving a small gap. What can I put over that gap? I thought of a narrow ribbon, glued on, but any suggestions welcome.
We live in a bungalow o hall is long and is heavily used.Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx
March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.0 -

Not quite the same but I wanted a Bureau for all my crafty stuff. Bought this one for £30, sanded and painted and I think it now looks rather good!0
