Don't despair. We have a forest green leather suite that we are stuck with and I fling a patchwork throw on it and have everything else shabby.

Also have a look on pinterest at black leather sofas. They are chic! (if not always entirely shabby)
The last link was wrong. I've fixed it now.
  • the last link still takes me to the other address for the cushions, mmm confused now!!!!!

The only thing in the living room thats black is the sofas, so do you think a white furniture would go:o

i like the neutral cushions with black, i saw some similar the other day actually. Those instructions look a tad difficult :o
you have given me a start :T

should i be going for sleek or chic furniture though mmmm :o

    ps thanks x

Black and white together is classic! If your sofa is smart then maybe just paint your furniture white but don't distress it or perhaps it won't go. Try a mood board! Chop up any pics you like from laura ashley catalogue, argos catalogue, etc and see what blends nicely before you take the plunge. You can always add accents of colour or a funky wallpaper.

That is the trolley, forgive the junk on it, its the only place in living room that collects it - it also covers the marks on the shelves. The cask with the cups was also an engagement present and for as long as I can remember its always sat on the trolley so when I inherited trolley the cask came to as none of my brothers and sisters could bare to see one without the other. The twilight game is DGD as at 13 she adores Twilight and everything related to it and really should be in her cupboard upstairs.

As you can see its nothing outstanding but I just love it I don't think I love any of my own furniture nearly as much.

Oh chalky that is exactly how it used to look before sister painted it. Sadly I never asked mum and dad who gave it to them or if it was new or not. They had a close friend who was an antiques dealer( I used to hang out in his shop a lot as a teenager as I loved everything in there).

Even the wheels on the ones in the photo are the same as on mine its identical except colour So chances are mine is the same.

Now I really am nervous about how to treat it as I do not want to damage it. It has no damage, no chips missing or anything. I would love to see it restored to its former glory.

Hi Prepareathome, seeing as it's bentwood and real art deco I would forget having it dipped!
I wonder if there are any experts near you who could restore it? It's not always as expensive as you think. And if you really love it, it might be worth it.
