Emma kate, I didn't read it was your blog at first but i recognised the hall of mirrors!0

I've bookmarked Emma Kate as someone will probably take that link out

edit add -that was a good read, I had been curious about milk paint - shan't go looking for it now.
Anyone else a pinterest addict want to post their link, I can look at pictures all night !

today I started on the table with dalmations on - they've gone now. This bit of furniture struck me as foreign and hand painted - and between the coloured paint and the wood is a layer of what seems to be white chalk paint or filler. I painted a box recently and it was the same.
Husband did some work on it's wobbly legs for me, & I sanded the drawer a lot so it runs smoothly. The top is still showing raised blobs from the picture on it so more sanding I think.
I waxed the retro mirror ( well it's circa 1985 and was a yellowing pink plain frame) and managed to resist buffing it yet.
I have so many projects on the go in my workroom office I couldn't move, so had the idea to shift all the old computers/printers/scanners/routers out of it. To my husbands horror, I took a stanley knife to the double bed base and got to the cave where other people have drawers. The frill thingy covers it up anyway :rotfl:0 -

Am I not allowed to put a link on here then Chalky? I'm not selling or advertising anything so I thought it'd be ok.
Thanks for bookmarking me!
I've just had a little look at the rule page and I think I'm ok. Phew! If I say 'look at my blog' all the time then it's spam but I think I can say it once as it's relavent to painting furniture. I think! I'm new to this!
I'm not wanting to break the rules!0 -
E K -I don't know but I've seen links vanish for no good reason in the past. Mad really because everyone puts their blog on the page that comes up when you click a user name... I'm not very techie and have no blog so who knows. Anyway I think you are a treasure and I have just found your pinterest

I remember pennib referring to her blog in a mysterious way! Now it all makes sense! Thanks for bringing it to my attention.
Tell you what though, I've had well over a hundred views from this site which amazed me. It seems to be the same names that talk on here and I hadn't realised that there are many more readers! Still no comments! Ha ha!
Hurry up with that table, I can't wait to see! And your pins almost made me drool!0 -
no painting today, we went to a bootfair, 2 junk shops and 2 charity shops then spent the afternoon on the beach . Here's most of this morning's haul. The big bowl from a washstand was 20p but is very cracked inside, the meat dish was 50p but is chipped underneath. I went mad & paid £3 for a Spong mincer, and £2 for the scales. Hubby bought the hammock for £5, but it was the greyhound rescue people so thats ok. Some of the stuff is going to move on soon to Canterbury Cat rescue as I was sorting through plastic plates for the ferals at 5p each and the guy said £1 for the whole boxful of stuff ...

I like the little candelabra. Are you going to paint it?0
-
hi yes - it has a broken bit on a foot and one cup missing, but most of my stuff is like that so it'll fit in! It's gold on grey metal and definitely needs painting.
I did a candleabra thingy that was black smooth & modern in pale green spray paint and it worked really well. I have enough candle related stuff to last me until I'm 99 but I still bought more this week :eek:0
