Hi Danemi - I've got a Franke sink - just a standard stainless steel with drainer - but it was twice as deep as others I saw. Mind you I can still soak myself and the floor with ease!0

well - update on the kitchen front - when we went back - they had changed the hob and said they hadnt but the model number from the original one was still there - they swore they hadnt changed it on the Thurs afternoon but when we went back on the Saturday the other girl said yes they had changed it. The price when we worked everything out was lots of pennies....the way to reduce the price meant losing the things that I did like...in the end I realised I was trying to make myself like it because hubby liked it. It had irked me that they had tried to pull a fast one with the hob. We walked away as having the units meant we had to have a layout that I didnt really want. I think we will probably end up going with ikea. We have to keep the cost down!!! Back to the drawing board. I did phone around some kitchen showrooms to see if they had any displays - In toto may be selling a gloss one - the lady is ringing me back on Monday - it will probably work out dear - I dont know - am currently surfing the internet trying to source the appliances cheaper0

I've got this kitchen (although not the island as I don't have space) which is very similar to Ikea and worth a look in Wickes. You just need to time it right as they have 'sales' every few weeks. I just adore my solid, wood worktop. I don't exactly remember why we didn't go for Ikea but I think although I loved the height of the wall cupboards it was something to do with the depth.
My previous kitchen was white too (from Texas, remember them!) and when it went a bit jaded I painted in yellows, taking inspiration from Monet's dining room and it gave me a few more years.
Good luck with your search, and thanks for sharing it with us.0 -
it is a minefield buying a kitchen, i remember last year looking in all the big diy sheds B&Q, Wicks, Moben, Selco, Ikea and smaller shops and you come away with mounds of paper and plans.
I think if you can get your layout sorted first and then try to get the best kitchen that fits your requirements and budget.
As i said in my blog post and on here last week I didnt end up with the kitchen style i had planned but i did end up with the layout which i think is important it has to work as well as looking good.0 -
I bought this in a charity shop, it washed up well. We don't even use a teapot but it was so nice...0

love the blue heart too = both very pretty.
Thanks ladies for your help and for being there! I have been ringing around this weekend various kitchen showrooms to see if any were selling off their displays - am getting a call back on Monday from In Toto in Birmingham and now today I have spoken with a branch of Magnet also near Birmingham - I am in Lincoln - but hubby works in Brum! The Magnet lady said there is one that is coming up very soon - will see if I can post a piccie - two secs0 -
