Hi there everyone,
I am currently working my way through this amazing thread and I have reached page 25 and have a few questions for a few people but I think I should wait until I have caught up because they may be answered either on the thread or within individual homepage links.
It's completely inspiring, especially for a novice like me!
I have seen this thread mentioned so many times but never had the time to sit and read and read. Fortunately (or really that should read 'unfortunately') I am unable to return to work for another few weeks due to a back problem, so my time is my own and this is proving a welcome source of inspiration.
I have been following (and even been known to sometimes pop in and contribute) to the Memory Girl threads which are an excellent source of motivation for me and somebody posted a link to your lovely thread which I followed and was hooked!
So I must now go and catch up with Seakay's rocking chair project and also follow everyone's lovely comments on the completion of Crusty's fantastic kitchen. Crikey only 76 pages to go and I will be up to date!
Thanks all for your inspiration I hope to join in soon!

what is the memory girls thread?? sounds intriguing
Hi danemi
Here's the link to the first page of her newest thread

Or if you search for The Matrix - Re-Evolution, you'll hopefully get the hang of how it's running! The girls (and sometimes boys) on there can't half talk - about allsorts!
I find it completely motivating because 'the matrixettes' (aka members of the thread) use their skills, experience and knowledge to advise and help people with all kinds of stuff. I sometimes feel a bit underqualified to be there but sometimes it's just support and a friendly comment you need and there's an abundance of all that.
It gets really interesting to hear how people (Memorygirl especially) are getting through their day and their debts (it is a debt free diary after all).
I would thoroughly recommending popping over and joining in.
Honestly, thank goodness for these forums because I would be climbing the walls with sheer boredom and frustration well before now!
I'm back off to page 26 to get a few pages in before teatime!

looking online now for a franke ceramic 1 1/2 sink - when we were in wickes yesterday we were looking at sinks - there was a double one that was gorgeous but when I stood there (I am 5 ft 7) it hurt my back as I had to lean over to wash up - (no I wasnt really stood there in my marigolds) but there was a sink and a half one that sat on top of the worktop rather than proud of the unit and it wasnt as low - so much better - I should have written the model down but would prefer to get a Franke if possible as they have a 50 year warranty
Hi, I'm a bit of a lurker on this thread but just wanted to say, I'm the same height as you; when my kitchen was fitted the fitter had me stand by the sink unit and adjusted the height of the units till I felt it was a comfortable height for me. The units are slightly higher than standard (whatever that is) but I've really noticed the difference when I've been at the sink in other houses.0 -
thanks hun - shall have to speak to ours when he does it! what sink did you go with0

my house is bursting at the seams, but I change things around a lot, so stash some in the spare bedroom. And the garage. I have enough chairs to last me forever...
(I have dolls house syndrome!)
I give some back to the charity shops I buy it from. I admire people who sell on ebay but I haven't got the nerve for it. And I've given a few bits to friends & family. Good job my car is a tiny Micra or I'd be bringing big stuff home too!0
