I'm looking at replacing the kitchen vinyl myself, the one that's down at the moment is cheap and nasty - but all we could afford at the time. Looking to go for something better now and seriously considering Carpetright, they did a great job supplying/fitting our bathroom one. (No..no connection to the firm, honest), but will take a look at eBay as well, never thought of that.
Thanks Hun - They are a really good company - I got our lounge carpet from there 7 years ago and its still going strong and in our previous place we bought loads from there - they always seemed to have the best prices0 -
The pillasters arent very wide so even together they wont house a dishwasher but thought something like a spice cupboard or a tray space with a thin door may work!!! Need to give the lady a ring I think - we have first refusal on it and our appointment isnt until Saturday
We actually have two pillasters on our existing kitchen and have just measured them - 100mm each - just looked on one tray space cupboard and its 150 - need to find something that will work in a 200m gap - mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.......off to look for alternatives!0 -
It sounds fab - looking forward to the piccies. Whereabouts are you - where is the granite place - its knowing who to trust isnt it!
We're using this place but they'll be too far from you. There is a thread on the In My Home board which talks about granite and there is someone very knowledgeable on there who could probably recommend someone in your area.0 -
wow that looks fab - hubby works in birmingham and travels all over with his job - he has a toyota hi lux with a cab on the back which means he could collect (maybe) - where is your home board????0

Can I just as k a quick question? We want to paint our hall in Dead Salmon here http://www.farrow-ball.com/dead-salmon///fcp-product/100028 but dont want to pay F & B prices. Can I take the colour card to the local decorator centre and ask them to mix a paint up for me. If so, what do I ask for so I get a chalky finish? or do you all think a chalky finish wouldnt be that sensible in a hall - would it be hardwearing enough? HeylpppppCogito ergo sum. Google it you lazy sod !!0

i would think most of the diy sheds or paint shops would be able to mix something similar.
it looks very much like something we had in our last house only a bit darker and i think that was by crown or dulux.
dont know about the chalk finish though i would just ask and see what they say.0 -
definitely agree with hmo - b & q mix paints up - we have been pleased with the ones we had done0

Hi there everyone,
I am currently working my way through this amazing thread and I have reached page 25 and have a few questions for a few people but I think I should wait until I have caught up because they may be answered either on the thread or within individual homepage links.
It's completely inspiring, especially for a novice like me!
I have seen this thread mentioned so many times but never had the time to sit and read and read. Fortunately (or really that should read 'unfortunately') I am unable to return to work for another few weeks due to a back problem, so my time is my own and this is proving a welcome source of inspiration.
I have been following (and even been known to sometimes pop in and contribute) to the Memory Girl threads which are an excellent source of motivation for me and somebody posted a link to your lovely thread which I followed and was hooked!
So I must now go and catch up with Seakay's rocking chair project and also follow everyone's lovely comments on the completion of Crusty's fantastic kitchen. Crikey only 76 pages to go and I will be up to date!
Thanks all for your inspiration I hope to join in soon!
