As we are having a new kitchen I want to move my dresser into the back hall/utility and paint it, poss white as it is a grey room. I can then display my pretty 'utilitarian' pieces in/on the dresser and put boots etc in the cupboards. I have been thinking of trying some Annie Sloan paint but it needs to stand up to being wipped down as I have a great dane who likes to lean on things!
Will it stand up to this torture or would I be better using F and B or the Crown Period Eggshell?
Any advice welcome.
Thanks

I think the Annie Sloan paint would be ine if you waxed it. Apparently that makes it quite tough. I'm thinking of doing my dark dresser in this too - just trying to find a local stockist because I don't want to pay the postage! There are many things in life that will catch your eye, only a few will catch your heart. Daft question I know ladies but if I am refurbishing a lampshade (putting LA material over the current material) what is the best fixative. Would I be able to use PVA?
this is something I havent done before but I recall somebody (maybe bibbity) doing it on hereSome days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, I will try again tomorrow -- Mary Anne Radmacher0 -
I had a brown wooden wardrobe and chests of brown drawers.
Decided to revamp so wallpapered fronts with toning Toile du Jouye wallpaper, then varnished clear. 24 drawer knobs sprayed with gold paint. Also wallpapered two small corner ottomons to match,
and decided to add a few cherubs - ebay brilliant for this.
Also spray painted crystal drop lamp and central ceiling light,
very cost effective but new look. Bought some cubes for storage
and am wallpapering outside and edging with gold (acrylic paint). Recovered stool in matching fabric (ebay again).
Economical way of revamping a bedroom and looks good.:T:T0 -

Help! I bought a pine bedside cabinet which someone had badly painted white, so I lightly sanded it and put a very thin coat of satin paint on this morning. When I've come to check on it, it looks really thick and not nice at all...I couldn't have made the coat any thinner....what now?

I bought a can of plastikote spray MDF paint in 99p stores ... pale green. Can't say how good it is because I used it to spray a black metal candelabra stick. Which it was excellent for. May not last for ever but it doesn't get a lot of wear & tear.
I got the idea from a link to a link in this thread, which is a big inspiration for me
Thanks posters. 0
