    Hi,hope you don't mind a lurker dropping in:o

I noticed in one of the earlier posts a liquid sander - ESP? Do these really work? I would like to paint a table and chairs but the chairs are windsor wheelback and are quite fiddly,so any advice would be very welcome.

    Thank you.

Thanks :) yes, it's just gravel - we have a huge area of it that's going to be replaced with decking so thought we may as well use it elsewhere in the garden :money:
  • Hi everyone!

I have been reading this thread with interest but I cant seem to find a "how to guide".

I have an old pine wardrobe and some pine drawers and several tins of Kath Kidston linen white emulsion and plenty of enthusiasm!

I'd really appreciate a step by step guide

things i am unsure of include:
whether I need to sand first
How important is it to prime?
do I need to varnish and if so which is a good one to use if you dont want it too shiny?

    thanks in advance!

  • Well I bought a couple of items from the carboot and am really excited to get started :j

Went to homebase and saw the F&B paint, almost fainted at the price but if it goes a long way and looks nice then its worth it :)

Ive got a question though that I need urgent help with...

Ive found a gorgeous Welsh Dresser that I really like the design of and its only £50 but I want to paint it all white/cream except the top of the bottom bit (if that makes sense??) I want that kind of a pine colour but the unit is like a very dark mahogany colour so how would I do that bit? Or is it impossible to do?

I put a £5 deposit on it and have to collect it tomorrow but I don't want to get it if I can't get it to be the colour I want, really want the top of the bottom bit to be a piney colour

That shape is so unusual, it will look fab. I'm sure if you can take the cabinet door to a glazier it can be sorted.
