We finally got moved into our new house on the 4th of september but don't get internet till next wednesday so typing this in library.
Quick wave and hug to all.
Love the house but a bit disconcerted that the wooden made to measure blinds, nearly every light fitting and everything else that was not nailed down (or was) has disappeared!!!"This site is addictive!"

Hi all,
Back from our city break in France,we stayed in Nimes and really enjoyed it,its a bit like a mini Rome with a small colliseum(sp?)and some other Roman buildings. The hotel was good ,considering it was only a 2 star.We had some nice meals, but went for the set menu of the day so fairly MS.We spent one day in some lovely gardens, with fountains, and little lakes and woods-free entry.Took our books and just sat, that was very MS.:) The weather was brilliant- but what a rude awakening when we got back,it felt freezing.
Ds1,his mate and girlfriend have looked after the house and dog very well, but the dog seems to have pulled a muscle or something-he slipped on the wooden floor just before we went, and his legs went akimbo. He seems a bit stiff and gives the odd yelp,so keeping an eye on him.DS2 got back from Tenerife last night, seems to have enjoyed himself apart from having his wallet nicked- he's been sorting a new bank card etc this afternoon.
Chicken in the slow cooker for tea, with chorizo, borlotti beans and sun dried toms.Hope its ok-I just bunged everything in this morning.
I've been to lidl and Mr s,and done all the hol washing. Some has been on the line ,but couldnt fit it all on so had to switch td on.Also popped to see Aunty at hossy, she seems to be getting worse, poor thing.
Shysarah-hope you get sorted and feel better soon, anyone else under the weather too.
Elona- good luck in your new house. I thought everyone had to sign a list of fixtures and fittings that were staying,we did for our last house move and it was very detailed.
NPM- not time to listen to all the songs now-will come back and browse later
Have a good evening everyone.x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -

Not sure if this is a) too slow and b) too babyish since it's called Irish Lullaby but I LOVE this. DD has it in her music box bought for her 1st Birthday.
H's mum was a fan of The Fury's
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z265BuKCQrc - I love this but it makes me cry as H said it was one of her faves and I feel sad that I never got the chance to meet her.
Or if you want more traditional Irish there is Sharon Shannon - fantastic and this is another one of my faves

Or Steve Earle and Sharon Shannon (think Magners

If you would like a copy of Robert Plant and Alison Krauss let me know as I can send you one
My fave from that album is this (but wasn't sure how much you pay attention to the words)

Afternoon All!
Had a lovely day out with OH at Ikea, bought some kilner type jars for flour, etc., straws for DS2 to craft with,, a spatula and bowl scraper and a pull out mirror for OH and my ten year old to shave with - £2.99, brilliant buy! We picked a sofa we both love which is under £1000, if we don't see anything in the sales afterChrimbo then that'll be the one for us, quite a difference, or old suite was around £4000, so we wouldn't expect this one to last as long, but then it has a ten year guarantee so who knows? We then went to Meet The Teacher at school and had a wee chat with DS1's teacher, and saw DS2's class, we played some games with DS2 but didn't need to meet that teacher as we know her already and didn't have any questions for her. Then went to SoccerSport where OH got some trainers and DS2 and I got new Crocs and he got footie boots. Crocs are either £5 or £8 there just now, worth stocking up if you like them, which is what I'll be doing with no OH in towI love my Crocs for house and garden shoes.
OH has borne up quite well, he's still awake!!! Takeaway Friday tonight - I always treat us if he's here as I get paid mid month, so no OS at all. Well I have a washing out, does that count?
Have a good evening all, I am off to listen to the tunes now and see which I like, although I do love the Carpenters, I listen to one of their albums nearly every day.

Afternoon everyone
What a lovely sunny day even if its a bit nippy. DS2 didn't want me to meet him after school and walked home on his own, its only about 10 metres away and no roads to cross.
Not much os today, have had to scrap my car as the cost of the repair wasn't worthwhile, would cost a few hundred more than car is worth, so said goodbye to the old girl today(quite emotional really):(. Good news is we pick up the new car tomorrow which is only a few years old and will be better for going up and down the motorway every month. Managed to stew some apples that had fallen off our tree in the garden.
I rang up about a part time job today so given my details, it is for a lunchtime assistant at a school in the next village so would get me out everyday if I get it.
Shysarah - Hope you got sorted at the hospital, sounds very painful.
NPM - My DH picked our wedding song as music is not my strong point, but do like the carpenters, think its called its only just begun.
Jayward - Hope you are recovering ok.
Elona - good luck in your new house, all blinds and curtain poles had been taken from ours. Lightbulbs were left though.
Sistercas - thinks for the info on memorygirls thread, so inspiring it has really changed my attitude.
Enjoy thew rest of your day. Hugs to anyone that/needs wants one. Take Care.

I'm on holidays :j:j:j:j:j As much as I love my job, I'm so overdue a week off so I'm so pleased.
shysarah - hope you feel better soon

.
The library is a fab place. I use mine so much. I only have one library book left to read and am getting anxious as normally I have a pile of 3 or 4! :rotfl:
Well today was my kids last day with us. They are the bunch I've only had for 3 weeks, but I'm gonna miss them. We went to Lazerzone (again!), had 2 games, I came 2nd in both. They got me a lovely card to say thank you
.
After work I went shopping. I wanted pair of boots from New Look but they were out of stock in the main town, but they had them in the shopping centre one :j I had 20% off voucher too so well pleased. I have huge feet (size 9) so struggle for shoes sometimes, I love that more places are now doing my size. I also got jeans, a dress and a cardi too.
No OS here today sorry! well, does a freezer meal count?!
I may be MIA tomorrow as I'm off to the Abergavenny Food Festival with a few friends. It will be earlyish start and not sure what time I'll get back.
Have a good evening all

NPM we went a wedding recently where the bride and groom danced to metallicas nothing else matters
seems weird but it really worked

It's quite a popular one when the couple are into rock music, I think.
Well, dinner eaten and cleared up, washing washed, dried and hung on airer, now I am comfy with laptop on lap, Minstrels in mouth and Dexter on telly. Looking forward to the weekend too, going to see Boyfriend again and even though we're not doing much of anything I always like spending time with him. However I have to go into London to get to his from here, I hope the Pope doesn't get in my way. Should be ok as I'm not going to the area he is going to and it hopefully won't be too busy by the time I'm going.
