Hi ani*fan, glad you understand! I literally want to smash my head on the wall everytime I speak to them. What astounds me is that all I want is to have a proper tax code so I don't end up the year having to pay masses of tax. You would think they would be able to help me out with that! Ha!
Too much to ask, that they're able to do their jobs properly. And your description brought back a vivid memory of me wanting to smash my phone against the desk! :rotfl:Very happy I didn't. Too cheap to buy a new one.
One thing my sister told me is that customer service is usually excellent in the states. Not so here, I'm afraid. We could learn a thing or 2 from you guys.If you know you have enough, you're rich.0 -
Rain Rain go away. I mean really this is like ark weather.
Excitement for today:
Changing bed (usual Sunday ritual)
laundry! (like every day ritual!)
packing for trip (partially done)
Birthday lunch with our 2 guy friends (one of their b-days so I suspect we will pay for lunch so not a NSD)
and if I can muster the walk after in the pelting rain, the gym.
I expect we wont want to eat dinner but if we do, we will have fruit on hand, and then
antiques road show (her sunday ritual)
The grass in the garden is so high but we wont be able to mow for awhile.

I thought of another way to save money on the upcoming trip. Normally I would go have a pedicure but I am just going to exfoliate my feet and trim my nails and file them and not put on any toe nail varnish. It usually looks ghetto fabulous after a week anyway!Mortgage: £280,752/ £262,515.84

I've never had a pedicure. I hate anyone touching my feet. I've had a few chiropody sessions when I've got really dry skin, but I class that as medical so force myself to tolerate it. I would never do it voluntarily. If Mr H accidentally brushes feet with me in his sleep he gets a real kicking. He's very careful nowadays. I must have saved £100s over the years!LBM Dec 2011. At least I'm not the only one with rain. I like to share it with all my MSE friends.
You've had as much excitement as I have. I've been washing and drying, with the tumble drier due to the rain.
I've cleaned part of the bathroom as DD wanted to use it this morning when I was in the middle.

Good Morning All!
I wish I knew how to multi-quote but I don't so will have to respond here.
The letter from the tax office came in the post, so I know it was really from "them"! (I have resorted to calling HMRC "Them")
I knew when I did my self assesment that I owed "Them" money and I set myself up on a budget payment of £40 every 2 weeks, with an opening payment of £200. After speaking to "Them" on the phone, apparently I set myself up on a budget payment plan and not a "time to pay" plan and therefore even though ££ is coming in, it still makes "Them" send me bad letters. So I asked "them" to switch my payments to a time to pay plan and the response from "Them" was staggering. "we cant do that because you need to set that up with the debt management office and you need to have all your current outgoings to hand because we need to tell you what you have to pay, but we are happy to keep the direct debit for the £40 ongoing in the meantime"
Ok I cant type about them anymore at the moment or I may have a brian bleed.
In other news, Miss Malaprop's birthday was yesterday and she was 50, so for a change I gave her a break on being stupid and stepped into her shoes.
I sent an email to about 30 people including some higher ups on a "situation" we are having at work with a co-worker called "doug". Unfortunately in my haste to type the email and get it sent off before the day was out I accidentally typed "Dog" which spell check didn't catch.
many people on the email dont know Doug, and since we work with many people with different cultural backgrounds, people have now accepted his name as "Dog" and all subsequent replies are all about "Dog"
Did I mention that Doug is included on these emails?
In any case I opened my email this morning to find an email from him titled:
