Argh, how horrible. Are they right, or could it be a mistake? And I know it does seem like one step ahead, two steps back, but if you weren't doing all the debt-busting it would just be the two steps back. That sounds gibberish, but you know what I mean!
sadly not a mistake.

OH and I had a huge row last night which is very unusual.
Today I am upset, itchy and broken out in hives. Taken some benedryl but so far not a relief in itching in sight!
I any case, we hardly ever get any post here (I often wonder why not!) and today we had the regular post and just now some more poste shot through the door delivered by TNT. Most curious.
Been sticking to both the food and money diet so at least that is a help.

Good Morning All!
I wish I knew how to multi-quote but I don't so will have to respond here.
The letter from the tax office came in the post, so I know it was really from "them"! (I have resorted to calling HMRC "Them")
I knew when I did my self assesment that I owed "Them" money and I set myself up on a budget payment of £40 every 2 weeks, with an opening payment of £200. After speaking to "Them" on the phone, apparently I set myself up on a budget payment plan and not a "time to pay" plan and therefore even though ££ is coming in, it still makes "Them" send me bad letters. So I asked "them" to switch my payments to a time to pay plan and the response from "Them" was staggering. "we cant do that because you need to set that up with the debt management office and you need to have all your current outgoings to hand because we need to tell you what you have to pay, but we are happy to keep the direct debit for the £40 ongoing in the meantime"
Ok I cant type about them anymore at the moment or I may have a brian bleed.
In other news, Miss Malaprop's birthday was yesterday and she was 50, so for a change I gave her a break on being stupid and stepped into her shoes.
I sent an email to about 30 people including some higher ups on a "situation" we are having at work with a co-worker called "doug". Unfortunately in my haste to type the email and get it sent off before the day was out I accidentally typed "Dog" which spell check didn't catch.
many people on the email dont know Doug, and since we work with many people with different cultural backgrounds, people have now accepted his name as "Dog" and all subsequent replies are all about "Dog"
Did I mention that Doug is included on these emails?
In any case I opened my email this morning to find an email from him titled:

Isn't the tax office just the absolute biggest nightmare ever?
I was self-employed up until recently and was astounded by how stupid, incompetent, unhelpful and generally terrible every person I spoke to was.
SO happy to be employed and not dealing with them any more.
Best of luck with it.If you know you have enough, you're rich.0 -

Hi ani*fan, glad you understand! I literally want to smash my head on the wall everytime I speak to them. What astounds me is that all I want is to have a proper tax code so I don't end up the year having to pay masses of tax. You would think they would be able to help me out with that! Ha!
From now on all available resources will be going to pay them. I am listing like mad on fleabay, and have decided that the £100 I usually pay for a 3 month supply of contact lenses will have to fall off the spending and I must wear glasses for the next 3 months so that will go onto the tax bill as well.
This mornings post brought not 1 but 3 letters from them telling me I had incured late payment charges.
I havent bought 1 new thing for holiday except a factor 60 lotion which we were out of. I have checked weather.com and it is meant to pelt it down the whole week we are away so..
Today we will be eating the leftover veggie curry from last night. Not very inspiring but it was tasty.
Yesterday even though I was supposed to be off I had to go into the office to get my laptop refreshed. It is a lenovo x201 tiny thing, but annoyingly it keeps going to sleep with a black screen and I cant wake it up without rebooting. Back to the office Monday me thinks.
Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend. xMortgage: £280,752/ £262,515.84
