Ok deep thought. As I was walking to bclays for my daily £5 payment, I had on my knapsack with my purse in it, which had some cash, my license, and all the credit cards in it. I metaphorically feel my debt like a monky on my back, but I literally carry it everywhere I go as well.

Hi there NL
Yes I'm fine thanks. Glad your OH is recovering well.
Your Money or Your Life is a BRILLIANT book. Such good advice and a really sound approach. Voluntary Simplicity is ok. He seems to have revised half the book though and I have the new edition. He's included a load of stuff about being eco-friendly, the state of the planet, consumerism, and to be honest other people have written about this much more thoroughly elsewhere. But it's ok. Think I might try and get a copy of the original.
The monkey on your back...I also carry my cards around. Have you tried putting them away in a locked drawer somewhere so when you get out you can feel a bit more freed up? I have 1 credit card tucked away and carry the other 2 around. When I was buying something the other day and flicking through my card wallet I swear the cashier was tut tutting at me...not good. But probably my imagination.
Bring back the maloprops! We love them!:DIf you know you have enough, you're rich.

there were many malaprops yesterday, so I will parcel them out one at a time from the not so funny to the hilarious:

The load is depressing you. You're clearing one burden at a time which is great, the B*rcl*ys brick will be chucked out the knapsack soon enough, a little lighter...
...and as vicksthestick says leave it at home!
How are you apart from that? Keeping well I hope!
