I don't think writing to Mobilise will do any good. I have emailsed them several times detailing stories of how UKCPS are harassing disabled motorists. They either ignore me, or say that the PPC is perfectly entitled to demand this money. Disgraceful!

    That is interesting.

Mobilise think that demanding money with menaces is acceptable behaviour.

    How pathetic are they?
  • Thanks anewman - I will log into that site - great ! Do you really think that the company concerned won't issue proceedings ? I don't see how they can as they have not defined who the driver was. Still new to these scammers - but learning fast !! Thanks
    :)
Have a great day before someone louses it up for you !

As said above do not pay, make no further contact, ignore any letters. The only thing you need to worry about is official stamped court papers, but the chances of getting these are nil.

was expecting mr anewman to be older :p seen you on facebook

    Echoing daveyjp's post.

There is a posting on Pepipoo that says a clamper had probably rocked a car to get the Blue Badge to fall off the dash! But I'm not saying that is the case here.

When writing to Mobilise (remember they'd get £44 if you did pay) address it to the CEO or the trustees - if you don't you will probably get a reply from the person that set the scheme with ukcps up. The Blue Badge has no legal status on private land, the fact your father has a disabability was enough to allow him to use the space. By insisting on the badge being displayed B&Q are possibly breaking Disabaility Discrimination laws and Mobilise are supporting them!!

Finally, remember that B&Q are happy to allow this scam to take place in their car park. So please think twice when you next want to visit, and take your custom elsewhere.
  • I am so delighted that I signed up for this forum as the advice is great and sensible. I am amazed that these companies are allowed to operate at all. The law is so confusing and grey, that it is maddening. Thank you everyone !

    Fortunately not in this area.

The blue badge scheme has no status in private car parks, so your father or anyone else can park in these spaces without the need to display anything.
  • Thanks to everyone for the replies.

  • I wouldn't bother talking to the parking companies but I would be tempted to send a strongly worded letter to the head office of the shops company (B&Q or Asda etc) pointing out the distress that recieving these threatening tickets has caused you and that you will seriously reconsider shopping in thier stores in future. They might just ignore your letter, but there is also a chance you might end up for a couple of discount vouchers.

The public need to tell these companies that their use of third parties is damaging their reputation with the public and alienating their customers, in the same way that people complain about offshore call centers. The more people that do this, the more likely they are to reconsider hiring these companies in the future.

In the disabled space. 10am in the morning and I would still park in the disabled space
That will be because you are:
    1. Extremely fat
    or
    2. Extremely lazy
    or
    3. Extremely ignorant

but most likely, all of the above.
