Parking in Blue Badge spaces

And of course some disabilities which might make people need to park in a disabled space are less visible, for example a person may have a blue badge because they have a bowel condition (if a person is running from a disabled space to the disabled toilet this may be the reason).
Disability, according to the World Health Organization, is defined as "...an umbrella term, covering impairments, activity limitations, and participation restrictions. An impairment is a problem in body function or structure; an activity limitation is a difficulty encountered by an individual in executing a task or action; while a participation restriction is a problem experienced by an individual in involvement in life situations. Thus disability is a complex phenomenon, reflecting an interaction between features of a person’s body and features of the society in which he or she lives."[1]
A disability may be physical, cognitive, sensory, emotional, developmental or some combination of these. Some people with types of mental illness, as well as people who are deaf (see Deaf culture), object to having their condition regarded as a disability, claiming it is simply a "difference" that has been unfairly stigmatized by the society in which they live.I]citation needed[/I The concept of ableism, however, used chiefly by those with physical, cognitive or mental disabilities, differs somewhat from that perspective.
An individual may also qualify as disabled if he/she has had an impairment in the past or is seen as disabled based on a personal or group standard or norm. Such impairments may include physical, sensory, and cognitive or developmental disabilities. Mental disorders (also known as psychiatric or psychosocial disability) and various types of chronic disease may also be considered qualifying disabilities.
A disability may occur during a person's lifetime or may be present from birth. A physical impairment is any disability which limits the physical function of limbs or fine or gross motor ability.Oopsadaisy wrote: »The test is mobility based, so not all 'disabled' people get one. Wow! Thankyou everyone who replied to me, never done this before and I didn't even expect a response. Just a quick comment to those of you who debated what I'd said about people with better mobility than I have at present, using the spaces. I have relatives with better mobility than myself with blue badges and have no problem whatsoever with blue badge holders for whatever reason, the point I was trying to make and obviously made it badly, is that currently I have a painful, mobility problem which seemed to me to be as or more disabling than some of the people who parked in the blue badge spaces. I would never have contemplated using the space if walking was less painful for me and that, and the gale force wind which was pushing me off balance, was the reason I chose one of the many empty blue spaces close to the store entrance. Is there a need for temporary permits, possibly handwritten and issued by medical staff, for short term disability problems, just to let the jobsworths in supermarkets now that the spaces aren't being unecessarily abused.I will be taking the advice and ignoring the nasty letters.0

there was an elderly gent in the local asda near me who was "issued a fine" and he was pleading with the little hitler to let him off as he forgot to put his blue badge on the dash. he was showing her the badge too.. she was NO.. you have to pay it its legal yadda yadda.. i simply said follow me.. and told him about mse and the uneforcability of the invoice, was over the moon:j

Hi - can anyone help with this - My father (79 years old and disabled) parked in a disabled bay in B and Q using a blue badge. He came out and found the car had a ticket on !!!
He also discovered that the car had been damaged on the front. The blue badge was in the footwell. So looking at it logically, rather than help my father by asking the person who damaged the front of his car with, we presume, a trolley, for insurance details, this 'helpful person' decided to ticket the car with £100 fine - five minutes recorded on the ticket.
As you can see the trip to B and Q was a streesful time.
My questions are these :
The ticket has no date on - how are you suppose to count the 14 days timescale allowed ? Is this illegal
The colour of the car was recorded wrong - is this legal ?
I have written to the company - UKCPS - they have said they are not listening and will enforce the debt through the courts. They have 'kindly' offered to reduce the fine to £44 and enrol my father in a disabled scheme - very generous indeed.
As we have not admitted who the driver of the car was, they have said that my father will be 'made' to tell the judge' etc etc etc. Bully boy tactics .....
I am not happy as you can imagine - ----
Any help appreciated from the forum
thanks !!
Have a great day before someone louses it up for you !0 -
Write to Mobilise (the Charity taking cash off these bunch of scammers) and ask how they can justify taking money from companies operating fraudulent activities.
BTW - don't corresponde anymore with the parking company. Ignore everything they send you.0 -
@MR ANGRY and anyone else interested join the facebook group http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=146057145420931
As said above do not pay, make no further contact, ignore any letters. The only thing you need to worry about is official stamped court papers, but the chances of getting these are nil.0 -
Hi Daveyjp - thanks for the advice. I just hope my fathers nerve holds out. I am furious with the fraud that is rained on a daily basis on people and especially the elderly !
Thanks again

I don't think writing to Mobilise will do any good. I have emailsed them several times detailing stories of how UKCPS are harassing disabled motorists. They either ignore me, or say that the PPC is perfectly entitled to demand this money. Disgraceful! What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0

"I have written to the company - UKCPS - they have said they are not listening and will enforce the debt through the courts."
They won't as there is no case (and no debt) to answer.
Do not contact them in anyway whatsoever again and ignore all and any communication from them0
