Well done Jina, that's an impressive haul - especially the Clinique stuff ;) A new 'Bonus Time' promotion will be running at my local HoF from next Thursday until Saturday 2nd December (I guess that's a promotion which will available nationwide though - someone correct me if I'm wrong ), so I can't wait to visit the HoF Clinique counter and hopefully get some lovely freebies. ;) It would be great if I could get a sample of their latest night cream.

  • :o I managed to get a Chanel mascara from the lovely lady in House of Fraser, Swindon, she said they weren't meant to be taking part as it was certain outlets only BUT she gave me a sample - and smiled when she did so I was pleased. Got the Lancome samples in Debenhams - no one else admitted to having any. The girl in Debenhams was lovely and smiley and gave me an eye cream sample too. Got 1 fragrance sample from the Estee Lauder counter in Debenhams but grudgingly from an unsmiling assistant who seemed hacked off i made her get off her chair! Why dont they like giving samples away? They're free and I would have thought they'd be delighted to be spreading the word about their products.

I love the lancome and clinique counters at Leeds Harvey Nichols :D
-The lady at lancome gave me 3 different samples of the Absolue range with 1 voucher (advanced night recovery, advanced replenishing and anti-dark spot concentrate), all 5ml samples. She also gave me 3 perfume samples (tresor, miracle and so magic). She even gave me a bag lol
-I got a 3-step skin care box of samples from Clinique containing 4 samples of liquid facial soap, 4 samples of clarifying lotion and 4 samples of moisturising lotion.
    -2 biotherm samples

+ 7 more perfume samples, 2 lancome absolue samples(HoF and Debenhams) Also 2 free haircare product, trevor sorbie and umberto, from boots (there's already a thread for that offer)

Most of the counters had a few customers already waiting to be served so I didn't really bother waiting. I'm planning to go back during the week when it's less busy to visit counters I haven't been to today especially Estee lauder and clarins

hi jina- well done for collecting many many samples today! can you please tell me how can you manage to get the clinique samples? did you make a purchase or had a voucher with u, or just ask? my local cliniques seem to be quite restricted with their sample somehow... thank you!

i was so close of going out today- just to make another sample collecting trip. but i stopped myself and stayed in at last!!

somehow i feel the SAs in chanel are most friendly and polite in overall. they always have a smile on their face, even when giving out a freebie, i guess it must come from their training!

does dior have any skincare samples at all?

Yep, got lots from the SAs at John Lewis and Boots. ;) If I remember correctly, there was a Capture Totale sample offer earlier this year, and I got many samples during that promotion (think this is a product for mature skin). Also got some Hydraction samples (this is a 'deep hydration sorbet cream' which smells gorgeous :) ). Have not asked for samples recently, but we can always give it a try. ;)

    Hi Michica
when the Sa asked if she could help, I told her I was new to this and would like to have some advice about what type of cream I need or should I start using anti-aging, etc. I always ask SAs to write down the product details and prices to show my interests and when she gave me a brochure, she wrote the details down. That's when I asked her if she had any samples I could take home and try. I also asked a few questions about the samples. Just to show interest really :D

That's exactly what I do too. :D I have recently started to show interest in eye creams (the first fine lines :o), so I never miss an opportunity to ask about this kind of products. It does show interest, and I also get the chance to find out more about products which I'm not very familiar with. ;)
