Do they do a credit check when you get the card?
I did ask this in another post, but cant remember which one . Read in paper that even tho your going to pay full price straight away seems they do a check. just to confirm your details, but still a check. Would love to know the outcome

  • Do they do a credit check when you get the card?

yes they do as teh cards normally come with a £250 starter credit balance (which can go up as you use it and pay it off on time) and whatever you buy up front is goign on teh card to be paid back at a later date when you get your first statement. theyre lending you money so they credit check you. you need to have a full-time job or be full-time employed or be married or co-habiting with someone who has a full-time job or be a student with a student loan and a part-time job/ parental contribution as far as i can remeber from the small print. :)

  • Really wanted to get the freebies tomorrow, thinking to add a section on magazine freebies in the first post, seems like there are lots around now chrismas is coming all brands trying to promote them selves, What do u think?

There's a thread on the vouchers board which covers magazine freebies (and vouchers, obviously):

    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=257392

The first post in the thread contains a summary of all current offers and this is updated regularly. HTH anyone who doesn't usually look the vouchers board. :)

    I second Freebie Junkie!
I have found that in the big stores a lot of the people in perfume hall are bored rigid of offering to spray people who are ignoring them, and are more than happy to find a few samples for me when asked. Good luck!

  • So far on my shopping trips I've found the Body Shop and Lush to be really nice when it comes to samples. The Clarins SA in Debenhams today was lovely. I was looking for a particular men's product which they didn't have any samples for so I asked if they had anything for men. She had a hunt around and came up with an eye serum and shampoo.

However the male SA for Lab Series in HoF was just too pushy. He handed me a DKNY sample as they'd run out of their ones but as soon as he knew I wasn't going to purchase their men's facial wash straight away, he asked for the sample back and said it's only supposed to be for paying customers! I said no problem and that as there's so much competition out there us customers want to test brands first before committing ourselves to them. He then gave the usual sales spiel about why they're so special and confident about their product and I just replied that other companies are happy to hand samples out and maybe he should ask their headquarters to be more generous in supplying them! :p
  • had a great time at the whittakers christmas evening and around bolton, i got:

    *12 perfume samples
    *16 sachets
*full size paul mitchell shine spray
    *5 lancome samples
    *4 clarins samples
    *body shop mini lip gloss
    *2 no7 samples
    *2 clinique samples
    *deluxe dead sea spa samples
*full size dead sea spa salt brushing
    *deluxe sample clinique make-up remover
    *deluxe sample clinique face spray
*deluxe sample clinique double lip gloss

i only spent £10 on a perfume for my grandmas birthday (her fave!)

and i won the free raffle- i won a full size clinique soap, clarifying lotion & moisturiser!!!!

look out for the boots magazine that out at the moment, the one in a sealed bag. it has a voucher for a free lancome hypnose samples inside the front cover and 3 dnage sachets inside. :)

also, for anyone else who sells stuff on ebay, t.j. hughes has deluxe samples of deisel (bright green box with 5ml mini bottle inside) for £1 the same ones that are on sale in superdrug for £3.99 :)
