    This is a council job, suitability has nothing to do with recruitment.

    are the roles not there to offer representation to lgbt/transgendered people , and thefore i believe to be important

    if you have an equalities act then you need civil servants to help see that implemented surely? you also need senior management to oversee that. it might not be very high up on your agenda but it is important.

    In that case you may need an equaliries manager, not separate ones for each minority group.

    that is hilarious logic. basically any job that someone says is unnecessary must therefore be necessary.
