  • Taxiphil and his intended have a joint clubcard account...they also went to the stores together (see his post about their overnight trip to France, via 13 Tesco stores).

I read that post...unlike some newbies  ..and i don't understand how you post that he didn't have points deducted? Surely having account closed and vouchers cancelled is the same as points deducted? However unfairly and possibly illegally that this occured ?
  • why do you two keep going of topic and using this thread for your own personal chat.(you have pm's for that) or there is always discussion or the trotters arms at the bottom of the main page.

That was rather selfish of you.OK don't get another one and bravo for that but what about someone else getting it for their kid as a christmas present who couldn't of otherwise afforded one?Did you get extra points on your clubcard as if you had took your own carry bags in their with you?

The langauge in your post is unbelievable.

How can you try and chastise somebody for doing the decent and honourable thing !

What is the link between somebody not being able to afford something and a 'right' you believe that then gives them to proactively exploit the Tesco's R&R policy ?
  • Tesco make too much profit from us all. 2bn+

This is Consumer Revenge on a small scale using Tesco's own policy.

Think of the poor farmers, low paid staff, local shops closing etc.

    Keep up the good work.

The conversation you were referring to initially was the one where Bassman asked if anyone else had suddenly lost a load of points. At that point, Taxiphil had not had his points deducted and had not been banned. Taxiphil has now had his clubcard account cancelled, which means all points and vouchers have been invalidated. Due to Tesco Clubcard T&Cs, this is not illegal in any way, as they have the right to terminate an account at their discretion.

Anyway, when I said Phil hadn't had points deducted, it was in reply to your post about the conversation a few days back. That was Bassman, not Taxiphil.

I happened acrossa store today which had the offers up so thought it was worth a try. Store didn't ahve any standard DS consules on display so as the poster didn't say not DS Lite we bought that and Fifa 07. Discount didn't come off. Went and got items then came back querying why the discount didn't come off. CS sent off a young lass to get the poster and they both looked at it and said sorry our mistake, let me give you the £10 and all will be well. We said no as its a package deal. buy the game and consule get the money off. She said yes I can't authorise that much so I'll get the manager who came along and said that we bought the wrong consule and it only applied to the DS not the DS Lite. i asked him what the difference was and that the receipt stated DS hardware not DS Lite but he stuck to his guns. We overheard them CS talking that they'd already had one that day and don't know how the poster got back up.

Consequently I came away with the game and consule as I felt it it wasn't right that it didn't specify which consule exactly it was. Was this the right thing to do? Am I right in my thinking or is the offer only on the DS and not the Lite. they did try scanning the barcode with the DS and it didn't take the discount off either.

The manager was really nice about it all and even photcopied the big poster advertising the promotion for me. He wrote his name and CS telephone number on the receipt. Couldn't fault him except for not giving me my money back:rotfl:

I have read the thread and understand the next step would be the phone call but I don't want to do that if I am in the wrong so any experiences of this would be useful please.

    Thanks in advance

    Hi
Same situation for my OH tonight. Bought DS lite and Fifa 07 and no discount. Staff offered the £10 and when he objected they offered the game refunded but he politely declined and said he will take it up with HO on Monday.
Anyone else got or not got R&R on the DS Lite????

Er no, u would never notice you had been overcharged until the transaction had taken place and you have the receipt in your hand...

u would of course notice if u checked your receipt on way out, as that is the only way of knowing you have been over charged ( dont give me the self scanner bit coz they don't work in alot of stores)
