no but certain 'divs' from various LAs etc up and down the country have been disciplined and even sacked for looking up famous people or their friends and family.
we only know this as its reported in some quarterly magazine/circular thing we get passed round. There's someone in my head, but it's not me0 -
If the LA's can access all the Data from DWP and Tax Credits, surely the claims will be dealt with much quicker than what is happenning now. Why will they ask you to fill in a 20 page booklet, and supply them with the original copies of all the information which they can look up from the DWp, Tax Credits database and from your bank and employer.
im not sure why you have to fill a form in but yes this is meant to save time and get claims processed quicker.
all LAs have targets for completing new form. i think our is 28 days [i only returned from maternity leave yesterday] and with this information to had i was able to process a claim today 3 days after the form was received.
we get our !!!!!! kicked by central government if we dont meet these targets.
within the next couple of months where i work are introducing 'ebenefits' and then 'erevenues' [coiuncil tax]. this is meant to be even simpler for the claimant but i dont believe they have thought it through and loads of us have pointed out that not everyone has access to the internet to complete online forms or want strangers [visiting officers] coming to their houses and doing the forms for them.
we are currently having a series of meetings where we are allowed ot have our say BUT it seems management are determined to have this and dont really give two hoots about what we think. There's someone in my head, but it's not me0 -

There is working tax credits and child tax credits, everyone can claim child tax credits if they have a child and their joint income is less than £66,000.0
