if you are claiming hb/ctb and dont disclose all your income or capital thinking you'll get away with it please do not be tempted.
a new system is being rolled out to LAs. we now have access to an online database containing all information with regards to your circumstances. this will tell us if you get tax credits but you havent told us you have etc.
its not worth it.
im not saying anyone here would do such a thing but just to keep all informed of things. its all very 'big brother is watching you'

Thanks for that update, have to say I thought you already had that system, or something similar! Hence i'd never even think of risking it, even if i could get past the moral issue!

Mortgage paid in full:beer:0 -
and before anyone asks i cant look anyone up. thats naughty and breaks all sorts of rights acts including the human rights act. la's can only look at the specific case they are dealing with.
so dont worry, we wont be delving unless we are dealing with your particular case.
another thing, dont know if anyone in the past has used quickcalc but that is now passworded for la's use only. There's someone in my head, but it's not me0 -

weve never had this 'power' (if you can call it that) before. we have certain people who can access the RAT (remote access terminal) but that never allowed such deep delving.
we even get to know now why someone is claiming IB. i find this very intrusive myself. There's someone in my head, but it's not me0 -

I, too, thought LAs had access to all that information already since there's been notes on the application forms for years stating that agencies share information between each other.Debt at highest: £6,290.72 (14.2.1999)
Debt free success date: 14.8.2006 :j0 -

They most likely have the authority to share information but not the technology to make it practical.... I know when our counter fraud department are talking to the DWP etc it can be like trying to pull teeth finding people that have access to enough of the different systemsAll posts made are simply my own opinions and are neither professional advice nor the opinions of my employers
