I feel like changing mine actually! Not such a clever idea it seems.
I understand where you are coming from OP."I did then, what I knew then. And when I knew better, I did better"0 -

I haven't heard of your name before which is why I wasn't sure if it was a real name (hope that doesn't sound unkind - it's not meant to be!) so I suppose it isn't very common and you could be identified easily from it.
Hope you have stated the reason you want it changed on your request and they might grant it
Has its advantages and disadvantages.
I told the powers that be via email what my reasons were for wanting to change my name/username and informed them of a another as suggested by shellsuit.
Thankyou.0 -
One problem could be if someone who has noticed you is watching this thread - they'd just track your new identity. Similarly if you are on their buddy list you will remain there but as the new username. Any threads you started will change to the new username.
Surely therefore, it's easier to set up a new username? I mean it isn't like you have a huge post count. Wanty probably posts and is thanked that much in the space of a few mins :rotfl: (not that it's a bad thing wanty!)

Of course it's a compliment wanty
In fact seeing as your username is part of your email address, you would have a valid reason for changing. Go girl! :T

The changes to user names using email addresses are when people use their main email address such as joe.bloggs@isp.co.uk but not when their user name is part of the email address such as joe.bloggs.
With apologies to the user Joe.Bloggs0 -
One thing some people worried about privacy should also remember is that if you've had that username for a while, as the OP has, then it's likely to be cached in Google so your username will still be traceable that way and we can't do anything about that.
In that case if you're not worried about the posts you've made it's probably a better idea to simply re-register with a different username as someone said above.
