Don't do it. It will be a big mistake.

I did it for mine. Invited 6 people - not realising that 1/3 of them suffered from night incontinence.

Seriously - take it from someone who knows! Don't do it. It will be a mistake.

A better option is to still invite them over for movie/popcorn/dinner etc and then let them all go home to p*** in their own beds for their own parents to clean up! The kids will still think it's a great party idea - they don't care as long as they get a cake and a party bag. Works out just as cheap for you with the plus side that you get some sleep too.

Hiya my soon to be 8 year old has asked for a sleepover. I've compromised and said that he can have a pyjamas party. He's inviting 5 friends 6 till 9, they're bringing pjs to change into, they're going to make their own pizzas and ice cream sundaes then watch a DVD have some cake and the parents come and collect them :) win win - hopefully!
If you.re definitely doing the sleepover then why not let them make their own pizzas, ice creams, pop corn etc? Then settle down with a couple of DVDs. Call it a movie marathon. I'd do this after a wii tournament to let them wind down a bit. Good luck!

    :eek::eek:

Thankfully thats not a problem. They've all stayed over before with no mishaps, just not all together.

It can be total mine field having other people's kids to stay though or when yours stay at theirs.

So far we've had 1 boy come downstairs at 11pm deciding he wanted to go home.

Another who kept coming down and complaining cos my son had fallen asleep and wasn't talking to him.

When my son came home on a sunday once after staying at a friends he told me they were allowed up until 1am and they had watched Family Guy  - he was 7 at the time.

Her hasn't stayed at that friends again lol.

When my brother was that age - they made a 'den/tent' made up of sheets etc hanging from various furniture peices in the living room. The tv was there, along with various video's (back in the day ha). Take-away, pop etc. They had a wail of a time

But as a once in a while its not going to do any harm not letting him go back seems a huge over reaction.

We did it all the time, still do, only now the boys and girls have to sleep in seperate rooms due to teenage hormones.

Mini pizzas that they can decorate themselves was popular--a batch of pizza dough, made into small circles, and bowls of selected toppings. They 'decorate them, you bake them. Kept them busy all pf 10 minutes, but they loved eating them later. (Put a slip of greasseproof paper with each name on, just under the edge of the respective pizzas before decorating and baking.)

Ditto decorating cup cakes, maybe a bit more girly, but some boys still love it. You will know them best. The boys we knew were human hoovers at age 9, so any food related activities went down well. :rotfl:

A session outside with a ball, to burn off some energy is good, if you have a suitable space or a park nearby. Then later on I would also go with films, popcorn, and nibbles.

It is exhausting, and you may not get much sleep, but the kids love it and sleepover parties make fab childhood memories. Well worth the hassle in my opinion. :D

I wouldn't be happy if my child had been allowed to watch family guy. That is rated 15.

I wouldn't let him stay again because his friends parents thought it was ok for a 7 yr old to watch Family Guy.
