Ebuyer are great, never had a problem with them!

    Maybe you're just unlucky?

Maybe you were just lucky ;)
(although if you've never had a problem for them to resolve, it wouldn't be an issue)

Unfortunately I have had issues with the company. At the time of checking, I also discovered they had a significant number of CCJs (many of which were unsettled) recorded against them.

So the OP isn't alone in their experience with this company.

A google of "ebuyer problems" produces about 125,000 results

Out of interest could you offer some citation to that, and the process you used to obtain that data?

Seriously, I know you will have problems in your situation..but getting wound up over a £20 dvd player? Is it worth the stress?

I guess what I am most disappointed by is the lack of understanding and empathy shown by some posters.

The assumption seeming to be that I have not already done the reasonable things.

I used the enote system explaining how it was important for my son, ebuyer did not respond

I suspect they hoped as it was close to 12 months since purchase I would just give up.

I used it again and still nothing

therefore I was forced to ring them at our expense for a faulty product.

I dont expect everything to last forever but returning should not be so difficult again I suspect on purpose.

goater 78 by the way I didnt come on here looking for judgements, I assume because you have been judgemental you are in exactly our situation?

Until you have walked in our shoes I dont think anyone can know what this is like.

I dont have time for people to pi55 about

    Our DS needs 24/7 care

we have had no support from social services, probably because were middle class.

so therefore I have had to give up work and we have to spend nearly £25,000 a year on the only therapy that may have any hope of teaching DS basic indpendence skills.

so Zenmaster I am disgusted that you assume I havent or dont do everything I can with limited income for my son, you really should be ashamed.

I knew ther ewas a reason I didnt come to this forum very much now and some of your comments epitomise this.

    Hi

I can sympathise with your situation regarding ebuyer and with some of the callous posters who respond here.

I believe any company, even those with generally good records for customer service can slip up.

Probably because you were so close to the automatic statutory warranty period of 12 months may explain their reticence.

I rarely post here now as this place seems to be increasingly peopled by the unhelpful type you have found.

Well done for keeping ebuyer honest.

When these companies take it in to their heads to be hard nosed they can be a real pain.

iv been tempted to use ebuyer however i am undecided
  • Can't you buy another one if its vital to your son. Then wait for the refund. They might of refunded you less postage?

hehe I have only spent around £600 over 6 orders. Haven't had a problem with any of them.

And to those that are whining about people not helping such as myself. THIS IS THE VENT SUB SECTION. WHERE PEOPLE CAN VENT. The OP didn't ask a question or for help!

I said no such thing but I am sorry if you thought I did.

My point was that I think you had unrealistic expectations of how long a cheap DVD player is likely to last. I have no way of knowing but I would hazard a guess that your usage would be a lot heavier than a couple of DVDs and a pizza on a Saturday night.

They refunded £16.74 so 11 months use of the player has cost £3.25 + the cost of a phone call. Seems very reasonable to me.
  • yeah you cant win with a lot of people on here. people are here for help and advice - not abuse.

I have a feeling that the same people who are on here for help and get abuse are the people that frequently give abuse to customer helpdesks etc.
