people who choose to stay at home on benefits ,should have to pay more for their tv licence than people who are out working all day.
Reason they watch it more .
"If you cant afford the fee get rid of the tv."

its nothing to do about owning a tv its the USE of the tv that you are charged on, people on benefits dont choose to stay on them so please dont tarnish everyone with the same brush. you dont know peopels individual circumstances.

For anyone on a low income, the easiest way to pay for a license is monthly direct debit.

Other than that, live without a TV.

It's not essential really.

You do not need a tv licence to:-

play dvd/videos
watch pre recorded videos
games console such as playstaion 2, xbox

so its not merely a matter of getting rid of tv especially when they cost alot of money. Morglin i suggest you live on low in come and you will soon see what you are able to pay and what you arent able to pay, your robbing peter to pay paul.

Not least that you have to make sure you have enough money in the bank account otherwise you will go overdrawn and get bank charges so NO direct debit is NOT an option for low paid workers or on some kind of benefit.

Not to mention they want to check if you have a mobile and computer as they can receive broadcasts via internet, how stupid is this! bbc needs to get real this heinous tax should be ousted.

It always makes me laugh when people complain about the TV license. Considering the wealth of information available on the BBC channels, BBC's website, 37p a day is a small price to pay.

I wonder how many people complaining about it think twice about buying a chocolate bar or a bottle of juice...

seeing as a tv is powered by electricity i think there is an order of importance

bbc have lost alot of viewers over the years havent you heard about the recent announcement that they are going to cut costs and put MORE repeats on.

this is not good value why would anyone pay to watch a bunch of repeats. BBC news is biased, sky is the best.

have you not heard about the bbc twisting the FACTS around with the story of Queen storming out, which turns out to be false the bbc is responsible for editing footage, the seperate production companies just make the documentary so therefore Peter Fincham should be sacked as he also tried to blame the production company so now he has been caught lying.

what about the scandal with Blue Peter, that is a disgrace but not one of them shall have disciplinary proceedings nor even any sackings, the the Sweeney report on Scientology where he screamed the place down, journalists have a code of ethics, even newsnight has been in the news about their programme.

The BBC is a disgrace, and it is a Rich enterprise. if they say they are the best they can survive without the tv tax, they should be made to FIGHT the other channels for our attention by giving us the best unbiased programmes to watch, obviously this is not happening and people are turning to sky/cable to watch what they REALLY want.
