OP have you googled your problem with the garage/fuel? Surely others would have had a problem around that time too? Hinza see post #5, the OP says he has a petrol reciept!0

I would think that the problem is more related to something that has happened as a result of the car being "professionally overhauled and tuned".The man without a signature.0

Lets clear a confusion. I DID NOT PUT DIESEL INTO A PETROL CAR! unless there was diesel in the tank at the garage and it came out of the Fuel save unleaded nozzel!!!!!!
Fuel Save is Shells new brand name for their supposed 'make your car run cleaner' fuel.
The car had lack of power before the retune. This was cause by a failed mass air sensor and a small air leak. The car was sorted and the difference in power performance incredible.
I have driven several hundred miles. Started it no problems and towed a 2.5 ton horsebox twice with it.
There has been no starting or idling problems. No blue smoke out of the exhaust and no smell of petrol in the last 6 weeks. Yet, I put in this petrol, and all of the above start to happen in the space of half a mile.....

seems I am not alone....0 -
Well all I can say is that I've been using the FuelSave diesel for a few weeks now in a BMW 320D, not for any reason other than its the cheapest in my area, and I've not experienced any of the issues highlighted with it and my average mpg has indeed increased, albeit by only 2 mpg.0

OP...post #15...I guess not!0

As said, if nobody else has had issue (Find out!) its clearly not the fuel.
ITs could equally be "sludge" being draw through and blocking the filter. As to me, it sounds EXACTLY like when the filter is blocked (ie the fact that running it for so long and draining didnt really help). It would also explain why it ran ok on LPG.Back by no demand whatsoever.0 -
OP you really need to establish a 'timeline'/audit trail and prove the garage fuel caused the problem....have you 'googled' yet? I suspect you have and found zilch?0

Could it be a case of old or stale fuel? I experienced the similar symptoms (uneven idle, kangarooing) but on the higher octane shell fuel bought in a Hertfordshire area. I then filled yesterday half the tank with normal shell fuel and it cured it on restarting the car.0
