Had 1 job interview today and felt it went well. Have another interview lined-up for Friday, so things are beginning to look up at last.Never Knowingly Understood.

I'm unemployed and, as my spouse doesn't have full NI contributions for the last 2 years, so is not entitled to benefits, am surviving on £80 p/w.
Luckily, my parents are giving me the money for my mortgage each month, so that is covered, but it looks like I will have to cancel my mobile phone, home phone/BB and anything else I can just to make ends meet.Never Knowingly Understood.

Quite pleased with myself.
My flat is all-electric, so heating is by 1 oil-filled radiator in the living room and one in the bedroom (used to be a mix E7 & convector, but they cost to much to run, so got removed and dumped).
The bedroom rad developed a problem with the thermostat on the temperature adjuster jamming on, so the heater got stripped and the thermostat cleaned. However, a month later the thermostat was playing-up again, so since Sept. 2014, the bedroom has been un-heated.
As luck would have it, my son's oil-filled rad developed a fault with the element which meant every time he turned it on, his electrics tripped (he has a fully centrally-heated council flat, so no idea why he still uses electric to heat his abode). Anyway, lastnight when I dropped him back at his, i picked-up the broken heater and today, dtripped-out the thermostat and fitted it in place of the broken one in the bedroom heater.
Gave it a test run and Bingo!!. Bedroom heater fixed and working again. Saved £15 on buying a new thermostat.Never Knowingly Understood.

Been a busy 7 days. First off, dad was taken ill on Monday, then admitted to hospital on Tuesday by his GP (got discharged Friday).
F-in-L admitted to hospital on Sat. (found-out via is ex-D-in-L who was phoned by her ex-husband (in breach of her restraining order against him)).
Had to take son + niece + great-niece to walki-in centre Sat. evening.
Redeemed myself today though. Renewed parents house insurance online (something they were dead-against). Got them a better policy via their original provider, but saved them £140 over the renewal price (and they will get £50 in food vouchers to boot). Did it via TCB, so earned myself £26 for my troubles.Never Knowingly Understood.

So far so good on the 'ill relatives' front.
Job interview Wednesday, so looking forward to that.
Jobs for the week:- Re-fix drip-bar on front door.
- Clean windows.
- Investigate whether my BB router can be set to cut the WiFi at 23:00 in order to force my wife to stop using her laptop to play online games until midnight every day.
- Book car in for MOT and to get horn fixed.

Well, as off Wednesday next week I will be back in work.
No idea if it pays weekly (preferred) or monthly, so will find that out when I start.
Still holding-out hope for the 2nd job I had the first interview for though as I see it as a better future prospect than the first job.Never Knowingly Understood.

More paperwork done for E-commerce manager role. Must drop this off Monday as I need closure on it.
Start handy man role Wednesday, but only see this as a short-term role as I look to move up the earnings ladder once again.
Need to apply for WTC in order to keep treading water.
Can't believe how slow the DWP can be sometimes. When I signed-on back at the beginning of December '14, I put-down that I had a mortgage but no MPI. I duely received, filled-in and returned a set of forms to claim for my mortgage interest to be paid.
Last Friday, i finally got a letter telling me that they will be paying the interest after all, just as I am about to sign-off and go back to work.Never Knowingly Understood.

Do they not only pay mortgage interest after 13 weeks?0
