Skandia Investment Solutions stocks and shares ISA

My IFA has recommended this as a monthly direct debit ISA (just small payments at first whilst we save a house deposit elsewhere - then increasing the monthly once we have secured a property). This will be a long term investment of at least 10 years.

Does the collective wisdom of MSE Forums have a good or bad opinion of them, I've had a google and can't find anything really.

Thanks :money:

One of the best platforms around for IFAs. Charges are clean, large fund range and service is good (although it went through a wobble 18 months ago when the merger of Skandia and Selestia went through).

I have my pension with them. I havent got my ISA with them mainly as I opened it before they existed and havent got round to transferring it to them.

You see far more mention of them in the pensions section as they can be one of the cheapest providers in the country.

  • That's great thanks. Do you recommend them to your clients?

More than any other platform. However, I dont tie myself to any platform. I use which ever one is best of the needs. I dont tend to use Skandia on small regulars or small fund values. They are more cost effective on values over £15k.

Some advisers will only use one platform for everyone. So, if you have concerns, then ask the adviser why they have recommended Skandia over say Fidelity or Cofunds (both of which tend to be better value for smaller amounts but not for larger - Although Fidelity has a new charging model that is good for people with over £50k).

  • Thanks for the heads up, I'll ask her when she sends some forms over.
