Phone Ikea, report the issue to them & they may offer you compensation.0

I wish I'd seen this before we put our cabinet up as we have had a similar experience and I have just written to IKEA. While I was in work on Monday 12/03/2018, the door came off our cabinet. As the door fell, it cracked the top of the bathroom sink and then fell sideways into our cast iron bath scratching the bath. The sink / cabinet are at the 'head end' of our bath; had one of us been in there I dread to think what might have happened!0

Thay are absolute sh#ts about this unless you get through to the correct person. You get told to go away if you don't have the receipt. If they mess you about really ramp it up and post back here.0

We didn't have our receipts & had the Sink & Bath replaced by ikea0

Well, this has just happened to us at home!
No idea how old the units are as they were in the house when we purchased it in 2015...
One of the door units came off whilst my wife opened it. My wife is currently pregnant and this could have caused some damage if it had fell differently! Also with a little one on the way I am wondering what to do about this...
Has anyone tried the newer units? I like the cabinets as the storage is so useful0 -
Far better design on new units - not designed to fail!0

Cash_Cow said:I had that nonsense too - its clearly an IKEA made unit. I suggested they check the Ikea Family card record that would show this purchase but apparently the search function is abysmal... Great:eek:
As this is a serious safety issue that could potentially disfigure someone or sever someone's arm off, and that I found the issue via my 10 year old daughter screaming as it fell on her, and her trying to hold it, I persevered...
I got a direct line to a head of dept and she sorted a replacement and a refund for fitting with no fuss. She was very helpful but very intrigued how I got her number, and asked me not to share. But if you still draw a blank and get fobbed off I will share, or show here this post.
They have a duty of care here based on the flawed decision to hang very heavy doors using glue and all to be based in a damp bathroom environment. There is no fault in the customer so sort it they should as a successful global company.0 -
Sorry I don't. Try finding a name/job title there.0

Ikea will accept a Bank Statement & then they'll search their system for your purchase
