sorry to disagree, but size 16 is NOT "very fat"-it depends a lot on how tall the person is, for a start.

and as I said, your post did not answer the question, which I thought was the whole point of these forums, not to !!!!! and whine about the poster's lifestyle, whether or not you disagree with that.?

I'm a size 28-30 - I can do a days work at the local stables - muck out three or four stables, sweep yards, turn out horses etc. Just because you are overweight, doesn't mean you are lazy or eat non stop..

I can guarantee the girls in the first picture don't have to take mood stabilisers, which have caused all the people i know taking them (self included) to gain a lot of weight. Excercsising and dieting has made NO difference since being on these drugs. If i stop taking them i'd lose weight, but i'd also lose my mind.

Do some of the people commenting not understand how averages are calculated?

Say we're surveying ten people and five of them are very fat and five are very skinny. The researchers will add their weights together, divide them by ten, and announce that "the average person in this group of people is medium weight" despite the fact that there is no one of medium weight in the group at all. "Average" is a mathematical term but people mis-use it when they want an adjective, as though it were a synonym for "normal," or "most commonly ocurring" which it isn't. Therefore, to say that the average-sized woman in the UK is a 16 does not necessarily mean that there are loads of size 16 ladies. It may in fact be more accurate to say that there are a lot of people who are over a size 16, and a lot who are under, so the "average" is announced as being somewhere in between.
