  • robberbutton its AnW'sMum's patented:rotfl: method of doing her house - you select a an area - not a whole room - maybe just a chair or the coffee table or a piece of worktop - just one small place and you clear it, you clean it and only put back what is meant to be there - deal with what you have cleared awy - the trick is to keep that 'dot' tidy - you can then do another or leave it until you have time and move on and do the same to another bit - just like dot2dot books you aim to join up your 'dots' and have a whole area tidy - hope that makes sense my brain isnt in gear yet!

Thanks toots for the explanation. At the moment I've been trialling a new "bung it all in a huge basket [STRIKE](or seven)[/STRIKE]" method of clearing away. Upside - done really quickly, which means I can get to cleaning. Downside - basket(s) then hang around for weeks unpacked until I tip them all out on the floor to find stuff :( Will keep searching for that perfect method!

MrsChaos I sympathise with the wet mattress, hope you got it clean :( Read in an article that you don't know you're a parent until you wake up in the middle of the night with a wet bed, put a towel over it and go back to sleep :rotfl:

PS - no flying again today (unless you count one batch of washing up :o). Tomorrow is another day (hmm saw a good quote about that on this thread somewhere...).

My DH is away so often, I no longer worry :o

Glad you admitted to that as it was how I am but then felt guilty as it would look like I didn't care. DH does tend to call me once on the plane before take off though. Hope you get to speak to DH soon x

Busy day, busy week. DS3 needs to see the chiro again on Monday as his shoulder is all messed up since his broken elbow. Booked to go about my very sore hips too. I've been putting it off as it's costly but I need them looked at again now.

Flying plan is bathroom tomorrow and the hedge
    Family room on Sunday
The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair
  • my head is full of sn*t and I have blown my nose practically non stop since last Sun lunch time.

I now find I have sinus pain and infected looking stuff

Go away bug and let me get out running again in the fresh air feeling good

Soz - hardly any flying this week due to this - did wash and change the bedding and put my cosy flannel bedding on to keep me warm and put the winter duvet on as have been a little cool this week. Might see if I can manage a tidy up tomorrow as the house is looking untidy due to no flying and illness

I have spent so many days being miserable about stuff I hadn't done the day before I got nothing done that day too.. looking at every day like a new opportunity to get stuff done is the only way to make a difference.

poohbear Big hugs. Sorry to hear about your cat and your friend. Hugs for DS1 too.
holly Hugs for you and your family.
penpen. Hugs and hope you get to speak to DH soon.

Hugs for everyone specially Toots.Lady L. Diva and LW.

I used to spend the whole time DH was away being concerned and stressed. Friends and family would be supportive and I would be constantly bursting into tears :( Having small children (they were in infants when he was first travelling) didn't help, either :( I do care and worry about him being away, but for my own sanity, and so as to minimise passing my worries to the children, I have to get on with my life here :)

Just had some good news :T I requested a book on the ReaditSwapit online book swap. My swap was accepted but I can't find the book she asked for  I e-mailed her straight away to apologise profusely, and she said it was OK and she'd send the book anyway. Was that karma - I sent 2 extra books free to a swapper this afternoon :j

Watching the Great British Bake Off with DS. We're planning to make pasties together :) He and I are having a mother and son bonding on the ski slope tomorrow :j:j

    More wine, anyone
