Can anyone recommend something to clean the oven with? I'm out of Mr Muscle and I don't fancy buying more. I have all the usual stuff - stardrops, vinegar, bicarb etc. Or will I need proper chemicals to get it clean?

See if i can get my electric DD lowered

You probably already know this next bit as it is an MSE forum:o

Suppliers can be quite reluctant to reduce direct debits at this time of year - nights drawing in etc. - so make sure you've got an up to date meter reading. Yes, even if the meter reader has called in the last few weeks. Readings back up the argument of "I've used less" or "There's enough in the kitty to cover winter consumption" or "I can increase it if we have a really bad winter or tell the kids to put another jumper on":D

Oh, and don't forget to ask them for an energy consumption meter, if the company has them shown on their website so you can see what you're using.

    Afternoon all,

Thanks Shortbird, i'll do a quick reading before i phone. It's been lowered twice already as every quarter they owe me loads of money. My DD was £95 a month at one point  which was much too high. They've just refunded me over £100 so the DD still must be too high.

I've had lunch and am just decluttering a coffee before my next HHC at 12.45. Who's with me?
