Just waiting for the TD to finish cause my apron is in there for work, then I'm off.......Going to try and do a HHI at 2:00 when I get back and have had some food....see you all then xx0

1 hr later - and no cleaning done yet
Found DH had been out picking Victoria plums (8lbs), damsons (3lb) and figs (8) before heading off to work. The fruit was thoughtfully deposited in the utility room with a post-it note saying "Look what I found!"
Wouldn't mind, but we picked, ate, jammed, froze and processed lbs and lbs of plums and gages *last* week..... No room in the freezer: I swear it's starting to sag around the middle already with all the fruit we froze earlier.
Anyhow, I've done half the plums and filled 2 x 1 litre jars, plus a smaller jar of figs in rum, and they are bubbling away now in hot water, to bottle them.
As for the damsons....I cunningly bought 2x 0.75 litre bottles of Vodka last week, so they have been tipped into 2 huge jars with loads of sugar and I'm making damson liqueur. (Did it last year and it was fab.) Might make another couple of jars with kumquats in (we have a glut of them, too...) but I will probably need to don dark glasses and a disguise if going back to the same shop so soon for more bottles of hard spirit....
Am sitting down with a cuppa - then on with my list which is HUGE for today. Egg and bacon pie to make next; then kitchen clean.
