Can't access any Google sites from Firefox

Weird problem here. I can't access any Google sites (mail, search, docs, reader etc.) from Firefox unless I use the secure (https://) address. IE, Chrome, Opera and Safari all have no problems and the hosts file is perfectly normal (no non-default entries.)
I have run extensive malware checks (Malware Bytes, Ad-Aware, C-Cleaner, Spybot, ClamWin etc.) and nothing particularly untoward has turned up. I have also uninstalled FF completely and reinstalled the latest version with no add-ons to no avail.
Any ideas on what to do next? Would rather not have to reinstall OS to fix this fairly minor issue, but I'm getting to the end of my tether with it!

Having a brief read of http://firefox.blogcarnival.com/archives/2005/05/cant_load_googl.html
I would have thought an infection. Has malwarebytes had an updated definition before the full scan was carried out?
Run hijack this: (written by alienRIK)
Download HIJACK THIS (Make sure you click 'DOWNLOAD THIS VERSION')
http://www.filehippo.com/download_hijackthis/2894/
Click MAIN MENU then DO A SYSTEM SCAN AND SAVE A LOGFILE(Takes seconds) then post the log so we can see whats running
(do NOT do anything else with Hijack but scan and post the FULL log)0 -
Yeah, suspect it must be. Never taken the time to sit down and figure out the meaning of HJT logs, probably should! Any help appreaciated, log follows:

I have a strong feeling your computer is infected as there are lots of system32 files showing where they aren't supposed to be...
Please post the malwarebytes log! Under the LOGS tab, click on the latest log date, copy here.0 -
Edit: sorry, just realised mbam isn't up to date - will rerun scan.0
-
Hopefully malwarebytes should catch the malware!
Updated definitions should be: 45990 -
Nope, no dice:

Bump, any more thoughts?0
-
Sorry was at the supermarket. Can you run a full scan? (again update definitions before please! not sure what number it is at now.)
Also did you ever have an infection in the past? The logs may be reminants of a past infection.0 -
Will do - did one the other day and it took 36 hours so I'll be a while!0
-
um... can you post that log? Something is wrong I suspect if it takes 36 hours...
Also do you have norton on your computer or just the online version?
The things in the log (except the first one) are worrying me: (hopefully others may offer insight! Although it might be a windows 7 thing...)
