You could also try Moneyquest as well, and about a thousand other broker firms who advertise on the internet as fee's free.
You cannot guarantee quality of service off a large firm just because they are a big name.
You may be better off using a smaller, local broker for that personal touch, and you will then normally deal with one person from advice to completion who will get to know you really well. Think McDonalds vs small local eastablished family restaraunt- if you could have the latter for the same price of the former what would you choose?
Whatever you decide good luck, I'm not impressed on the face of the deal you have quoted, but there may be factors that we have not been able to consider on the forum.

Martin does not endorse any of the above companies, merely cites them as examples. Martin's whole ethos is not to recommend or endorse any such company, but to encourage the consumer to carry out their own impartial research.
London & Country do actually have an employee who posts occasionally on this site (he even has a link to their website and their name in his signature although this may have been removed recently).0 -
Never said that Martin endorsed the companies in my above quote ,just stated that he does not endorse those who post on this forum ,easy to read my post ,self explanatory ,do you still disagree.IN fact I state that the companies mentioned in the book the Money Diet do not post on this site.Would you like to endorse all those who post on this site?To be happy you need to make someone happy.0

Why are you going into defense mode, have you a problem with a consumer quoting companies in a free market enviromentTo be happy you need to make someone happy.0

kenshaz, the brokers may or may not have a problem with you mentioning brokers but I'm not so sure it's a good idea to use them for someone around the edge of the mainstream/sub-prime choice. I'm more comfortable suggesting smaller local firms or the brokers regularly posting here for that sort of situation, trying to reduce the chance that the broker may just be driven by trying to get commission.
Recommending the brokers who post here has one significant advantage in such borderline situations: the feedback from the borrower to the community here that would reflect on the reputation of the broker if they made a poor recommendation.
That is: I don't have a problem with mentioning the brokers, but I'm not sure it was the best recommendation for this particular borrower.0 -

But again Ken you are inaccurate and have not read my post properly.
Nobody is in a defensive mode. Why would I need to be? I am not declaring my professional status on the site and will continue not to untill Martin himself decides how it is to be done. He is the only one who's decision on the matter actually counts after all.
You state that the companies who you mention do not post on the site, this is in fact incorrect. L&C have an employee who is a regular contributer to the boards and even had their company name and weblink in his signature at the bottom of each post. There are also employees of Charcoalonline, a fee charging company who are limited to a panel of 36 lenders, who also post here on occasion.
Of late Ken I have to say that I have been in agreement with a lot of what you are saying, however at least allow me the courtesy to disagree or state where you are incorrect without it being seen as anything other than stating fact.0 -
I am posting as a consumer ,and as such have stated what I believe I am not posting for the benefit of brokers ,but in response to the original post.I see no problem with giving options in respect to reputable regulated companies.
Why not accept that this is my fundamental right ,I will not have it suppressed,by your over-reaction and then your atempt to shift blame , makes me even more resolute to ensure that forum users are not lulled into a belief that all who post are not self interested. To be happy you need to make someone happy.0
