Car Insurance - No claims question

My husband has car insurance which protects his no claims. Last year he had a bump into another car which was sorted out via the insurance. Nothing was paid and it was sorted out.
My question is, I want to renew the insurance but what do I put in the accident section? He has no claims, so do I still put the accident down?
Also, if I do put it down, it asks for the cost of the accident. We were never informed of it. What should I do?
Thank you

Not 100% sure what you mean here. You say the claim was sorted out via the insurance, but you also say no payment was made. Please expand.0

That is what I mean though.. they sorted out the claim but we were not charged anything.

You have to declare the accident regardless of any other issues.
I am assuming it was your husband's fault. There would be nothing for you to pay in that situation. His insurance company would simply have paid the insurers for the other driver. If you had your car repaired as well you should have paid your excess but that would have been it.
Although he has protected no claims, they may still increase the base premium. It might be as well to get quotes from other companies to make sure the cost is still competitive.
If you are asked for the costs of the accident, you simply put you don't know. From the last two claims we have had, we just paid our excess to the repairers who then billed the insurers. We don't know how much it cost.0 -
B is right you have to declare the accident, and just put don't know how mush was paid.
It is worth remembering that with some policies, even with protected NCD, there will be a limit on the number of claims you can make.0 -
