thanks for all the replies, yes she has claimed sickness benfit before but i'm unsure what it's called i'm not a expert on these things having never claimed anyting myself.
As for my sister getting 300 a week i didn't mean it the way it was stated in that she get's that in cash she gets high DLA in care and motability , with Incapacity Benefit and Income support? my mum claims Carer's Allowance which is arund
60 something a week, plus full housing benfit paid, so i dont think it's far off 300 a week...
anyway thanks for the help regarding my friend i will pass the info on to her, does anyone really think i would be asking about claiming sickness benfit of 91 pounds a week if my friend wasn't ill:rotfl:someone on here has a very bad attitude.:(
but thanks to everyone else for their help.0 -

No offence so please don't take this the wrong way, but I've taken many claims for incapacity benefit when the claiment wasn't ill just couldn't be bothered working, needless to say their claim didn't get very far, but it's far from unheard of for someon to try their luck!!!
ETA: the one that sticks out most in my mind is a guy who wanted to claim IB as he had a recurring in grown toe nail, he worked on a building site and said he could no longer work as he couldn't get his safety boots on because it hurt!!! and that was a genuine claim for IB!!! the mind boggles!!!!!0 -

Hey that sounds a bit like my claim!!0 -
Not being pedantic and don't take this the wrong way but most people on IB don't live on that. They live on that PLUS rent paid PLUS council tax paid so it's actually a lot more
Well unless you've ever claimed & got it I think you're wrong. IB doesn't qualify me for any council tax reduction. I also pay a mortgage not rent so don't qualify for any housing benefit either!
I'm lucky that I've got a husband who works so yes we can just manage but there's nothing left for the hols & luxuries we used to be able to afford.
The point I was trying to make is that the vast majority on IB are on it cos gues what? they are ill! They are assessed as unfit to work, not just decide they like the sound of that benefit!! Sorry if I've taken this too personally but I have worked for 40 yrs & NEVER claimed a benefit in my life before this. I for one wishes I could work (&earn & have a holiday)0
